Easy to tell what areas will have a conflict in advance after the gulf the military switched over to urban combat. Meaning they expect city fighting next. With the current hot spots in the world urban combat is likely. Though keep in mind military still does jungle training and desert and cold weather. And all spc forces will receive training In each the worst is cold weather by a long shot.

I have watched all of his films so far. I do like what he has to say in them even if I think the slapstickesque humor in them marginalizes the issues he addresses. I look forward to checking out Scahill's work since as you said he abandons the humor. Thanks for the heads up on this

By hook or by crook we'll bring democracy and Christian values to the world...at the tip of an 8,000 bunker buster bomb!

If it works don't think the fight with communism vs democracies is over it just took a time out. Though democracies tend to move towards socialism and Communists tend to move towards fascism think we're seeing that now.

Then read Scahill. Same message, different messenger.

Did you read my post........I am not a fanboy of the military industrial complex or war being an industry like soda pop or electronics. Eisenhower really did see this coming and now it is cemented in place. If we stop military spending or fighting wars the economy will collapse. This is self feeding and irony at it's worst.

Man Tenth I have to say, I'm apalled at the level of ignorance
that some of our members don't even seem to feel any
shame. How in the hell can movie makers even dream of another
movie if they don't make a profit? I mean my gawd WTF man?
Unbelievabull.

Personally I think he should make money........But the issue many people have with him is he is a sellout. He openly is against the 1% all the while using that fame to cement his place as one of them.

He talks the talk......But he does not walk the walk. This is how many progressive leaders role. They need to sell an image for the fools eating it up down on the bottom. Leaders at the top push progressive ideals mainly to keep the control and cause dependence.

That's your spin?

You mean it will collapse if we stop doing it, as opposed to stopping big banks' activity and corrupt politicians and rampant off-shoring and greed at the top COLLAPSING OUR ECONOMY?

That a guy who is capable in his chosen career and is exposing malfeasance and earns money doing it (for shame! OMG!) in his own way is a liar and fraud, because Eisenhower?

You, my friend, have stumbled into the wrong meeting, I fear.

Yes, I did read your post.
It is contradictory to begin with....if we spent the amount of money on our own country and its citizens that we do on military; if we invested it in clean energy, infrastructure, education, and social programs, we would all be SAFER, and saner, and smarter, and everything else that comes with NON-VIOLENCE and minding our own house.

Cemented in place?

Let's get a jackhammer and wrecking ball, then.

Spin.......Look at the amount of employees at defense contractors and the amount of money they contribute to the GDP. We spend billions and billions on defense and if you just stopped doing this the economy would crash.

Your ideology is blinding you..........TPTB did this for a reason......See the bigger picture? Please educate yourself and watch Eisenhower's speech and understand the point I am making. You can lead a horse to water......Kinda thing.

So, you prefer destruction of other nations' people and infrastructure, and killing women and children and brides and grooms and other nations' people in general?

Wow.

That, in my opinion, is insane.
Not all of us are hitmen.

That is so bizarre and twisted that I can't even really address it.
Thanks for stopping by. Your opinion is noted.

We spend billions and billions on defense and if you just stopped doing this the economy would crash.

And there it is, noted again.
How about if we spends Billions and Billions on rebuilding our own country, putting people back to work by bringing BACK the manufacturing jobs, and stopping the off-shoring and tax-haven behavior instead?

Wow again.
I am seriously blown away by your mentality. Eisenhower was 70 years ago. The idea is to AVOID any more wars, and spend money on taking care of our own issues. The rest of the world can survive without our "defense". (And by the way, it's OFFENSE, unless you are worried about oil and cheap labor MORE than you are the lives of other people in countries that are sovereign.)

I am truly nauseated by your suggestion.

Don't know what this is supposed to mean.
Gravity was a great movie.
Watching the .1% being dragged back to earth and falling on their faces in the muck, though - that would be FUN! Not scary.

What? Is he supposed to make the film, at his expense, and then just give it away for free?

Free stuff is what you want?

Go earn it.

Oh now that was hilarious.

That is what the RIGHT has been telling the LEFT for years.

They say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Then when it comes to people like Moore. It's a different story!!!!!!

The Moores should at least put their money where their mouth is since the 'American Empire' is what makes Moores 'wealth' possible.

Kinda on the fence about Michael Moore, but love him or hate him, he makes some pretty interesting movies that make you think.

Of course with the premise of this movie, America being in perpetual war to benefit the MIC, I'll have to agree 100%. I'll put my money down to see this, really enjoyed Fahrenheit 911, hopefully he can hit the target with this one as well.

The saddest aspect of this is that some people are so stupid they need Michael Moore to make a movie about the Military–industrial complex to even know it exists.

If there wasnt a Michael Moore, surely somebody else would be in his position.

Great thing about America. You can question anything and everything. And it is no crime to be wrong in a docu-drama. Just ask Al Gore if it pays to be barely right.

It's not something taught in a forthright manner in school. Even in college, if you're not in a liberal arts program.

So much self sought ignorance in this thread - who cares about Micheal Moore, its the quality of his work that stands out not the ignorance in this thread.
