Have you noticed that no-one is for anything, anymore.

They're all against something.

You too?

You used "they."

It's awesome that YOU are for those things.

And if you ended that there, it'd be good.

But don't you advocate that government should do those things instead?

I don't think that's true at all, people are for and against lots of things, not just against.

I'm sure there's one thing we all have in common though, and that is that we are all FOR freedom and security for our families. Being at each other's throats and putting blame on arbitrary sides is going against that mentality.

I could care less what people do in their lives.

When they impact my life?

I tend to be outspoken.

How are you conservative?

What qualities do you adhere to that would typify you as conservative?

I don't think anyone's opinion impacts your life though, the only impact is the one that you allow it to have. We're all in this together, party lines and bipartisanship divides us and makes us against one another. Like I said, a mentality like that makes this a house divided and a house divided cannot stand. If you want this house to stand you throw bipartisanship to the side and find that common ground.

Maybe I'm wrong here. Not sure you can have both freedom and security. You can be completely free to do what you want but does that then affect someone else's security? Also maybe you can be completely secure, but will that affect someone else's freedom? It maybe possible to do both but until the hearts of all individuals change not sure they can co exist. Then again maybe I am full of it.

What? Did I say that? Did you respond to the right message?

To answer your question, I'm conservative to the extent that I think governments should operate in the black, and apply the maxim of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Now, are you in the group that you described as being "all against something"?

If not, what are you for exactly?

Opinions don't impact my life.

But those who vote for people who write laws that would impact my life, I have issue with.

Government feeds off of that.

Both sides do it.

I'd like to see an election where a candidate won by 85% instead of 51%.

Perhaps balance is more important than absolutism?

First thing that popped into my mind, reading your post.

I'm for freedom.
I'm for personal responsibility.
I'm for giving the government less, and having the people keep more of their own money.
I'm for the rights of all people. Religious, gay, unborn. . . everyone.

What great and stirring words!

Someone should really write that down.

Oh, wait, someone did.

Someone should really read that once in a while!

I have yet to met the person who jumps for joy at a tax raise

Wouldn't disagree at all. That balance seems to be the mythical unicorn of our current state of affairs. Thanks for reply
