What was THE one primary reason that brought you to join the very first time..

I'd seen a UFO and was scouring the internet for proof I wasn't crazy. I landed here - natch

I stayed because I love this place - for more reasons than I can get into here. It's annoying sometimes - just like any person, place or situation that you love. Infuriating, stressful, and occasionally boring. But - I'm still here

Real people from all walks of life talking about real (mostly) things :-)

Fighting like cats and dogs, sometimes coming up with things that are truly beautiful

Love this place

So what is your favorite(?) mankind theory

I'm not sure I have a favorite. In my younger years I enjoyed entertaining the idea of ancient aliens, although now I just more or less appreciate it for the entertainment value that it provides (but wouldn't it be neat if...).

I'm interested in the idea that humanity exists in cycles, and that the evolution of humanity has happened multiple times (by "evolution," I mean rise and fall of technologies on earth). It's an idea that I have yet to have satisfied with evidence, but one I keep in the back of my mind as new discoveries come to light and the human timeline keeps getting re-evaluated seemingly on a yearly basis. I do believe that we are a people with amnesia, if nothing else.

Ok, jeez...cryptozoology... I just had a quick look..

The Pope Lick Monster, Kentucky
Isn't Sanders from there?

Sanders? Colonel? Barry? Deion? The Colonel (Harland) Sanders definitely is...I'm not, though. I was born and raised in California (my mom lives in the vicinity of Tahoe Tessie

ATS had a paranormal and spiritual forum along with skeptical views.
Something that is important in those fields.

I was a moderator for another website dealing with these topics, but it was very controlled. I couldn't voice some of the opinions I wanted to there, so I would come here to have a voice.

That was the original reason.

After I was a mod there for 10 years, and then when they switched to no mods,
I came here much more frequently, and this became my 2nd home.

I valued everyone's opinions, even if they didn't not align with mine,
and over the years ATS gave me a much thicker skin when it came to taking criticism and seeing other peoples points of view.

To me this place has been one of the best "Mystery" novels I have ever read, and it just keeps getting better.

You ever read the book " A Canticle for Leibowitz " ?

It kind of follows along those lines.

A Canticle for Leibowitz is a post-apocalyptic science fiction novel by American writer Walter M. Miller, Jr., first published in 1960. Set in a Catholic monastery in the desert of the Southwestern United States after a devastating nuclear war, the story spans thousands of years as civilization rebuilds itself. The monks of the fictional Albertian Order of Leibowitz take up the mission of preserving the surviving remnants of man's scientific knowledge until the day the outside world is again ready for it.

en.wikipedia.org...

If you have never read it, I highly recommend it.
It leaves you feeling ancient and dusty....

This place kind of reminds me of these pictures (drawings) that my circle of friends (way back when) would pass around and add different things in their own stylings. These pictures were always really interesting and insightful into the different views of people and how they manifested in a creative and visual way into one big crazy overall big picture.

Remember, its best to put your images in your upload section on ATS, that way you get your BBcodes to make using images in posts easier!

Don't you just wish these people(mainly the still alive ones) would just come here to have a chat? Bob you know we are talking about you!!

George Knapp (who knows Lazar pretty damn well) did come here and chat though, so that was cool. These days, Bob pretty much eschews the UFO circuit. He still claims he saw what he saw, did what he did, etc., but simply doesn't have any desire to deal with it anymore.

He actually (last I knew) has a company that sells science supplies, including a few government contracts, and seems like a pretty well adjusted guy. I had some limited email contact with him years ago, and he was very cordial.

Good site that has most of his info. www.boblazar.com... (this isn't actually Bob's own personal site, as I understand it. I think it's someone doing a film). But, it has all the info (mostly) in one place.

If you're curious, I think the consensus on Lazar's (alleged) badge access identifiers is:

S4 = S4 of course, where Bob claims to have studied the drive
DS = Disc Storage, where the 9 craft are kept
ETL = Extra Terrestrial Laboratories, which fits with him stating they were given their own area
WX = Work Transfer (identifying him as a temporary asset)

Of course, it's all speculation, assuming any of his claim is real, but interesting nonetheless......
