Testify!

The left and the right have forgotten how to govern.

Lobbying ... A subtle form of decriminalized corruption.
Which side of the US politics is the most likely to support - and get their financing - from the big lobby ?

Corporations, by their nature, write laws?

No.

Corporations, by their nature, have militaries?

No.

Corporations, by their nature, have police forces?

No.

They can and sometimes do it's called Oligarchy in some forms and fascist in other. The Dutch East India company had it's own military, laws and police force, and so did a lot of other mercantile companies, heck some would even argue the Military Industrial Complex is such.

"Governments are bought by corporations so we need government to protect us from government being bought from corporations"

^your logic.

What I really said : end the private funding of campaigns (corruption) and regulate lobbyism to make it transparent.

This is obviously done through the government. Just you will have to face intense lobbying from corporate criminals to prevent it from happening.

Most Americans are conservative leaning in their values, no matter what Democrats and liberals say. We do not want help from the government. We want government to stay out of our business, and lives. So I believe that the population of contributors here at ATS just reflects what America is.

Corporations use lobbyimg to impose their laws.

Corporations can't impose anything on politicians. Politicians write laws, not corporations. Your darling government is willingly lobbied.

Corporations can hire private military to subdue locals in less developped countries.

Exactly.

Corporations have to go outside of themselves to acquire power.

You could easily start a private security firm and sell your mercenaries to those same locals for super cheap.

Corporations are getting always mor power each day and if the trend continues one day the dreams of sci-fi writers will become true and megacorps will replace governments.

Which would be a good thing. With no government those corporations can't stop me from starting competing businesses.

Unless we prevent it using the tool at our disposal: democracy

If you haven't noticed, we already did that, and look where it got us...

But you already can?

Good luck fighting megacorps in an unregulated distopian hell.

Without governments nothing prevents them from burning your business, buying your associates, killing you and selling your wife as slave.

Also the US will never be a true democracy as long as corruption is legal.

No. It is not OK.

But, if we fight corporations with violence for trampling our rights (which we should) we go to jail.

If you end the private funding of campaigns, then Joe Blow can't chip in his $5. That is by definition private funding.

I see absolutely NO corruption potential to complete public funding of campaigns. There is NO way that a government funding a campaign would be set up to be biased toward funding incumbents AT ALL.

No, without RULE of LAW all of that happens.

Government and rule of law are not the same thing.

Plenty of places have government but do not have rule of law.

I've said it over and over -- if I was elected president, everyone would get a free cheeseburger. I'd use DHS assets (vans and vehicles) to distribute them.

Not into cheeseburgers? I'll have hot dogs and veggie burgers as options as well. National cheeseburger day, the one day a year your government actually does something for YOU!

BULL #!

Its a business that owns a army s and whores itself out to fight in what ever ME war the USA has got itself into.

As well as have a history of atrocity's and crimes against it.

The fact is its a group of trained solders with guns, that makes it a army and army under private control.

You just talking in semantics

Its a corporation that owns a army of lawless mercs. Simple as that.
