I want to see Cruz get rid of the EPA, NSA, IRS and Obamacare. I could probably add in a few more alphabet agencies that I would like to see go. We don't need our bloated Government or laws that make energy more expensive.

So, you prefer Corporate Overlords that blatantly poisoning the world the way they were prior to Nixon setting up the EPA? Case you forgot, energy was still expensive and the only difference was they were allowed to pollute with impunity.

If you are representing someone legally, you are generally on retainer because they are paying you to defend them.

Right now the EPA wants to regulate dust in the air to the extent that farmers would be unable to till their crops or drive on unpaved country roads without violating the EPA's interpretation of the Clean Air Act. They want to regulate CO2 as a pollutant which is the very thing plants need to survive and you and I breathe out. They want to tax that. Welcome to a world where you can be sin taxed simply for being alive. The perfect sin tax you cannot dodge unless you die. The EPA can step in and regulate puddles in your backyard. And they are doing research on the emissions of your BBQ grill in order to regulate those.

They are out of control and need to be abolished for some other agency that will not forget its place.

^Wow... really swallowed that propaganda foisted upon by those whose only purpose is to make as much $ off you as they possibly can.

The EPA's place is to protect the environment, Nixon set it up for a reason--to keep companies from further ruining the environment. Not sure they've ever done anything other than that.

"Sin" taxes are something theocracies have in effect... you sure we're commenting on the right thread?

Yes, I am.

A "sin" tax is a tax on anything that society deems undesirable. Tobacco taxes are "sin" taxes. The idea is that the tax will make whatever it is too expensive for some to engage in, thus discouraging the undesirable behavior.

Sumptuary taxes are ostensibly used for reducing transactions involving something that society considers undesirable, and is thus a kind of sumptuary law. Sin tax is used for taxes on activities that are considered socially undesirable. Common targets of sumptuary taxes are alcohol and tobacco, gambling, and vehicles emitting excessive pollutants. Sumptuary tax on sugar and soft drinks has also been suggested; see soda tax.[1] Some jurisdictions have also levied taxes on illegal drugs such as marijuana

A carbon tax is very much a "sin" tax. They tax you over and above their "approved" amount of so-called pollution.

Religion has no more to do with it than having loaned the term and concept to it.

Sir do you have anything to add that is provable. Saying probability is nothing more than opinion. If that is the level of effort you put into informing yourself please refrain from sharing it as anything other than opinion. Opinion form a poorly informed point of view.

Ted's in pandering mode. He knows this legislation won't pass but is pushing it through to make his base happy.

But why would his base be happy with something so insane!!..like I pointed out earlier, Conservatives used to be leaders in conservation and the environment.

Because that's what his base truly believes today. The EPA is practically target number 1 on the list of departments to eliminate. And running for president, you need to push to the extremes to get through a primary... moderates don't motivate people to go out and vote.

You're going to see a whole lot more crazy than this from him.

Get rid of the EPA and have your rivers and shores contaminated by carcinogens and fire comes out of your tap..ok check:

I live in a river town on the Ohio river, we're a little ways downstream from what used to be a big iron producing area. The plants have since closed but the toxins remain. If you walk along the river today, in the few areas you're allowed to get near the water are big signs that say simply touching the water is a carcinogen and whatever you do, do not drink the water as it's highly toxic.

Sure wish we had some of those EPA protections when this problem was forming.
