Should gay people fight for the right for anti-gay businesses to take their money or just boycott?

Well if I am going to be insulted or generalized, I would prefer it done with actual words instead of gibberish.

Yeah I like to use aberrated rather than aberration instead of restructuring my sentences. I know I'm lazy.

Oh, but I'm not.

Hard to be insulted by a word that isn't a word. Or a point made by a person with no personal experience at the topic at hand.

Let's take it to an extreme measure the pedophile. It's hard to use the golden rule when a pedophile moves into your neighborhood now isn't it.

Why should it be?

You and your neighbors are going to want that person gone ASAP. I doubt there would be a welcome wagon committee or friendly gestures towards that individual.

I agree. There probably won't be anyone eager to greet the new neighbor and spend any time with him/her. What's your point? How does a pedo moving in have anything to do with the golden rule?

I know that was the word you were trying to spell. No need to explain.

It is just that when monkeyfishfrog was looking it up he used your original spelling of it which would come back as "not a actual word".

and I am sitting here and wondering...
would some southern baptists feel that a married women wanting to work against her husband's wishes also abhorrant? I mean according to one pastor is would be against their doctrine!

So any business should be free to demand their married female employees to bring permission slips to work from their husbands stating that they approve of them working?

So basically this is just another rehash of a thread I've seen duck up in the recent past brought on by a Christian pizza place that, within their rights, respectfully said they wouldn't cater a gay wedding? Let's remember folks, this pizzeria didn't deny service to anyone, and I doubt they would have ever. But having a gay couple walk into your store and order food is something vastly different from going to a gay wedding.

With that being said, let the businesses decide their own fate. Let them choose. A place that won't cater to a gay crowd, black crowd, white crowd, is a place that wouldn't get my money. It really is that simple.

I feel like this is becoming more and more of media whoring than anything else. Because the majority of adults I know (gay and straight) would shake their heads and move on. This vindictive hatred towards someone who doesn't agree with you is down right childish behavior. And it seems like everyone is forced to agree with you, if not all hell breaks loose.

Over the past six months, I've gone from an openly gay rights supporter to becoming a more closed gay rights supporter because of nonsense like this. I attended the wedding of my best friend (who is gay) and it was the greatest day in their lives and I was PROUD to be part of it. But seeing the opposite, and truthfully ugly side of this movement makes me shake my head and disown everyone, gay, straight, slightly bent, upside down, every single human as I expect more from us collectively.

F*** me for thinking we're better than the crap that's been going on, on all sides right?

There is not a single time in history where we gained more by being quiet and putting our heads down instead of standing up and being vocal about what's wrong in society. For every bit of progress made, there are some holding tighter than ever to old traditions and belief systems that do not have any place for a civilized society.

Okay you are the merry go round debater, constantly bringing the same question up from different angles. Excuse me, but I choose not to interact with you on that subject any longer.

You call this society civilized? For every year we head into the future, we're stepping back in time. I support gay rights, but we're taking it too far. We're becoming the liberal Nazi's. "You MUST adhere to our ideals, lest you be openly ostracized and shamed for your personal beliefs!". I hate to break it to ya, but this isn't progress.

Thankfully, the overwhelming majority of my gay friends disagree with what's going on today. Like me, they believe everyone has a choice no matter how shi**y that choice may be. Like adults, they shake their heads and move on with their lives realizing people can be jerks.

It's akin to revenge porn. It's just to hurt people who have hurt you. I'm not down with that. As I've said in another thread, and I saw someone else say it here, "hurt them where it hurts the most, their wallets". If they want to embrace ignorance, let them. I'd rather walk past a shop that says, "No gays allowed" and find another place, than visit that shop and find out I spent my hard earned money supporting bigots.
