Yup, and if it were to be set in the GQ, it would already have a potential historical enemy. The Hur'q hailed from there. Granted, they're presumed extinct, buuut that could always be rejiggered ever so slightly to allow for some vicious remnant society, too.

If not one of these I am sure somewhere in time a new Star Trek tv series will emerge. Just a matter of time.. Rest assured for those living in the 24th century.... there will be a Star Trek. Each new generation will have its own Star Trek tv series. Star Trek has become part of humanity.
