Four teenage girls have received vaginas grown from their own cells in a lab. And they work.

These girls were born with underdeveloped or missing vaginas because of a rare condition called Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser Syndrome that affects about 1 in 5,000 women. While their labia looked like those of other girls, their vaginas, cervixes and wombs, which are necessary for menstruation and childbirth, never fully formed.

What about the nerves? Do the nerves then function normally, with full feeling, in the implanted tissue?
Very cool news though, we are living in exciting times when we are beginning to be able to grow full organs and body parts for replacement.

I remember that thread. I also remember they required a "donor penis" to grow one. (I still cringe at the thought of a donor penis)

Do these vaginas require donors as well?

I often ask smarmy co-workers if they've got a yeast infection today, sort of a two level insult. Many don't get it, at least not immediately, which adds to the fun.

I would love to have a working V jay jay. I am sure alot of people getting mmodified will decide to get a custom one grown instead now. Tailand will really make a killing in this field.

If they can make bio-compatible organs, then why is it that they cannot still cure diabetes of type 1? Or is it that they just don't want to... There's a lot of money in that.
