I Wonder if the governing authority would let a large mass of People even leave their country. Martial Law would create some problems. And i hardly think that China or Russia would take 200 million americans. or Austalia for that matter.

I guess that would be one way of getting them to finally do something about border control!

Do you know what they call it when you are in a place you are not allowed to leave from?

Prison.

It appears from the numbers that they expect the migratory diaspora to be somewhat dispersed among many different countries, such that China, Russia, or Australia wouldn't have to worry about bearing the brunt of all 250 million - or however many of those made it out before the death toll started climbing.

Russia is not a destination of choice, going by the figures presented - the Russian population declines by 6%, it doesn't increase.

This is all very interesting. Thank you for posting it. I wonder if you can recommend any books that explore these ideas (fiction or non-fiction). I have an amateur doomer friend (nurse) and I'm looking for an appropriate Christmas gift.

Nothing beyond what signalfire recommended in this post. It's not the variety of doom porn I normally read, so I'm fairly unfamiliar - I'm more of a nuclear war or comet/asteroid strike kind of guy.

Here I have to differ somewhat - I don't think the US can put 100 million hunters afield, much less under those conditions... unless you call hunting rats, cats, dogs, and maybe people in the cities as "hunting". Most city dwellers won't be able to get out to where the game is if transportation starts breaking down, and it might be pretty dangerous for them if they do.

True. Martial Law will be enforced in good time before People really start to get desperat. A hord of People will prbably be relocated to FEMA camps to take some presure of the populated cities and communeties.

I do believe if a martial Law is enforced in the US. The US would become the worlds largest prison. The US would become a society With a very strict government enforcment (A Real Police State).

We already have the worlds largest prison population. In fact, FEMA camps would hardly be necessary if the prison industry kept pace. That's why maybe we see a decriminalization of certain things and an increasingly politically motivated criminalization of other things.

Thanks. Being a nurse, I think she's more into epidemic doomer stuff. I wonder if anyone else can recommend books (other than "The Stand" and "Hot Zone" which she's read) on that topic.

Michael Crichton, "Andromeda Strain."

Thank for that suggestion. I'd forgotten about that one.

Or just maybe this was clever move to drive traffic to their website.
Like you say, follow the money.
I think they have no clue personally and their crystal ball needs serious cleaning.

The site reminded me a lot about the study the Club Of Rome did. its just that the Club Of Rome was a lot more detailed about the stages the events would occure in.

Good God! I read The Limits of Growth back in the 70's when I was in High School. That book scared the crap out of me! Bastards. I know where the real crap was coming from - The Club of Rome. Some experts, hah!

It's funny how guys that want to monopolize resources decide that there just isn't enough to go around huh
