You see the Daily Show with the Redskins debate? The fans who went on camera saying redskin is not a racist term got super uncomfortable when actual native Americans showed up. They bitched and moaned afterwards about being ambushed. Absolutely hilarious. I wish the media would do this more.

So we got 2 videos of a handful of people on opposite sides.
One saying that actual natives are not being asked which is just blatantly not true.

I used to be on the fence about it but I get my health care through the tribe, I'm not full blooded by any means but talk to plenty that are and they seem to be all the same page of it being offensive.

The beeping shows how for every other race/ethnicity has a term that isn't aloud on tv for them but then shows how it is aloud on there for the Native Americans.

I personally agree and don't think about it as a big deal but it is unfair that its blurred out for everything but them.... it should all be blurred or none at all.

I think it depends on how the mascot is depicted. To me, the Redskins mascot and logo are not intended to be a caricature like Chief Wahoo of the Braves, so it still surprises me that everyone chooses this to make their stand when I would think ole Wahoo would be the low hanging fruit. Honestly, to me, he has always looked like the NA equivalent of black face.

I also say that because it seems to me that the opinion on this is firmly divided with some NAs one the yay side and some on the nay side.

And, no, I'm not a NA, but my husband is part and doesn't think it's offensive. Of course, he was also adopted by a family of blue collar folks from Tennessee ...
