I can't remember the last time i saw chief Wahoo with the Braves. I do remember him back in the eighties though. Seems like the Braves switched to the tomahawk in the early nineties as their main symbol.

As far as the offensiveness of Native American mascots i gotta say it depends. The Redskins definitely need a name change. Cleveland probably does as well. The Chiefs, Braves, and Seminoles i don't think so. The Chiefs and Braves embody virtues that we often name sports teams after regardless of culture. The Seminoles are historically tied to the State of Florida and a signifigant part of the tribe resisted the forced relocation by the government in the 19th century by hiding in the swamps.

The Browns mascot is a dog tho.
No one thinks their name is meant to be brown people and I don't think anyone should.

Agree with everything else tho

I agree. They should just change the name. They won't lose many fans. People care more about the city that the team is in not the arbitrary nickname. Exception to this is New York since there are more than one team for many sports.
