"The Information War For Ukraine"

When one of the most watched German channels - south German state TV channel ZDF - releases an 8+ minute satirical spoof of all the fabricated "news" surrounding the Ukraine "ïnvasion" by Russia and all the associated newsflow from the region...

Source

Ouch, German MSM showing this will have a huge impact on public opinion over there. Former episodes already had a good deal of backlash.

Germany: Leading journalists attempt to censor TV program

Since February, Germany’s second public television channel, the ZDF, has been broadcasting the political satire show “Die Anstalt” (the German word is used for a TV station as well as for a mental asylum) at regular intervals. Featuring 46-year-old Max Uthoff and 36-year-old Claus von Wagner, a younger generation of comedians has taken over from Urban Priol and Frank-Markus Barwasser, who headed the predecessor “News from the Anstalt”.

The first three editions of “Die Anstalt” were a refreshing antidote to the political coverage provided by the ZDF and other German media outlets. Using satire, the programs took up current issues and brought the public’s attention to themes which normally can only be learned about by carefully researching the Internet or reading the World Socialist Web Site.

Central themes of the programs were the revival of German militarism and the events in Ukraine. German President Gauck, Foreign Minister Steinmeier and Defense Minister von der Leyen, who all called for “an end to military restraint,” were subjected to the same merciless treatment as the lying reports in the German media about the events in Kiev.

The wide publicity sparked fierce protests against the media outlets that had been exposed. Uwe Krüger told the online magazine Telepolis: “I suppose that the pressure following a television show with millions of viewers is considerable. There has certainly been a # storm of online articles, and apparently there were cancellations of subscriptions.”

The affected journalists reacted. They pressured the ZDF to ban similar revelations in the future. They responded to the exposure of their one-sided reporting and their incestuous relationship with the ruling elite by calling for censorship.

Satire is a fine tool and comedy is perhaps one way to circumvent cencorship. I wonder how long it will be before the station is muzzled.

A bit like this thread, how long before the usual suspects arrive and derail. You know the ones...Jen Psaki and Marie Harf, alive and kicking on ATS.

Yup...

Germany as the biggest economy of Europe has a lot of influence on EU politics. It`s bad for the German politicians when such things are showing up. They will be feeling the pressure from the voting public for sure because of this.

You can only hope they are not going to censor such things in the future.

My first impression, when I saw the title and the name of the opening poster, was that he was announcing and celebrating his victory. Honest. Just shows you how misleading ATS headlines can be.

What "victory" ?

You haven`t been fooled by a few as to me being a pro-Russian, while I`m just being pro free information now have you?

I just stuck to the YouTube name it was given.

I didn't find the title misleading. In fact it is a simple statement about what it is. There was no sense of announcement or celebration, that is just your bias showing. You entered the thread just to have a dig at the OP. Perhaps you should reflect upon that rather than hide behind some sort of declaration of honesty.

Just curious when your quoting zero hedge do you even understand it? Tyler Durden was the anarchist on fight club thus the reason that name was chosen. Its an anarchists view of the world markets. this started a couple of years ago and and has been predicting doom and gloom ever since they take something and try to make it a huge issue. This is a form of stock manipulation and no surprise there since the blogger has been caught doing insider trading. For example take the Ukraine issue if they could convince people Russian investment is sound and in spite of the Ukraine crises and get people to funnel money into hedge funds they make a boat load of money. Everyone on wall street is fully aware of the bloggers intentions and many read it just for the alternative look at the market though only fools would invest with information recieved off this blog. Another big example is hey constantly attack Canadian banks its believed to drive down there stocks so they can invest.

Using it as a source is well just not advised since exaggeration is the name of the game and there moto says it all. On a long enough timeline the survival rate for everyone drops to zero. Great line from fight club.

I was waiting for that comment, but this was coming from German public television, and has not much to do with Zero Hedge. I have been reading that blog daily almost from the beginning when it started, only about 1-2 months after the start, and know the background information.

I have the ability to judge information as what it is, so for me it doesn`t matter where it comes from, as long as it`s good information. In general they have solid information regarding certain stuff, and correct themselves if they were a bit too quick with it (it happens when you want to be quick). So there`s no need to discard everything they write. If so, I wouldn`t read BBC, Dutch news, etc. also not anymore.

SO it doesn't actually have to be factual for you to use it as a source as long as it sounds like it is good information...amazing.

With knowledge you can judge information more easily.

But maybe you have forgotten I have been able to proof what I was writing all the time when asked by you, but the other way around has failed many times.

What the blog is doing is trying to make an issue of satirical comedy, For example in the US there is Saturday night live did the same kind of skits anyone watching knows its a comedic take only a fool would go yeah thats what there doing. When the writer gets people to read this blog he gives the impression Germans somehow believe this. Well they dont despite what many say Germans indeed do have a sense of humor. Only someone unfamiliar with the German or for that matter western culture in general would take this seriously. Thus my amazement you even posted it for discussion.

Ps would love to see this other confirming information you have? Let me guess lost in your email right?

Maybe it`s time you get original instead of just copying things I have done before.

I feel flattered by it, but also bored.

Do you mean the information given by me here ? :

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Guess what, I have family living in Germany and have German friends living over here. They are not some kind of backward people who don`t know this is true and can be fooled so easily as in regard to some other countries.

Could you imagine Obama being made impossible to speak ? They even open a topic here about some veterans giving him a lukewarm applause. Merkel isn`t even allowed to speak, you can here her from 3:04 min...

They are shouting "Kriegstreiber" = "Warmonger" while she speaks :

It does feel like "der Wind dreht" (the wind changes) in Germany right now.
If you listen to what people talk about on the street, there is much criticism and doubt about US/EU/NATO policies and the role of the MSM (as a propaganda tool) right now.

Just look at the top 10 list of bestselling books in Germany right now:

"Gekaufte Journalisten" (bought journalists) by Udo Ulfkotte,
written by a German journalist who exposes how journalists are paid by the CIA to spin EU media.
