Growing Old (Poem)

I don't know what
to make of it all.
For every try to climb up,
I get knocked down for a fall.

For every hurdle
I make it over
For every hoop
I jump through

Seems there is not
the one original problem,
But several more to boot.

How does this happen?
Why need this be so?
Doesn't the cosmos realize,
This negativity,
can stop all my growth?

The time I was able
to do all I need do,
Is now something I
can not even attempt to do!

Gone are the days of My
Invincibility of Youth.
And now are the days
of old age and it's truth.

I can relate! Kinda miss that youth part when physically things were so much better and I wasn't falling apart at the the seams. LOL

Am forced to ponder this every day, nowadays.
The head/brain/mind says "I want to see what's on top of that hill"...as it did when I was young.
The body says - "Sounds Great! Wake me up, when you're through."

Fun stuff, all around.

A few years ago I would not of been able to relate to this. Now I can. Great poem

Well you wrote that nicely. My poem on getting older would be more like a 'rant', lol.

The best part of being older is the lessons we've learned.
Remember, 'older and wiser'....or in your case maybe 'older and wise-assier'...hahahaha....

Thanx K.E.!! I appreciate That! I'll be reading Your "Tales of Nehovia" When I get a little spare time. I clicked on the link, and scanned the page! It is a long one!! But I do want to read it, as I really liked Your Short Story, "The Gang." And if 'Tales' is anything like 'The Gang', I know It will be worth the time needed to read it all! I'm looking forward to it!
