Benswann.com is reporting that Edward Snowden claimed during his NBC interview that the U.S government had all the information needed to detect the 9-11 plot, and even that the perpetrators were known to the CIA and on their radar. He claims the U.S had all the dots they needed to be able to connect them. This is information that most conspiracy theorists already know, but it adds a certain level of intrigue to the narrative when one considers that NBC chose not to air this portion of the interview. Why is that?

It's not exactly dangerous or new information, is it?

from Benswann.com:

“I take the threat of terrorism seriously, and I think we all do. I think it’s really disingenuous for the government to invoke and sort of scandalize our memories to sort of exploit national trauma that we all suffered together and worked so hard to come through to justify programs that have never been shown to keep us safe, but cost us liberties and freedoms that we don’t need to give up and that our Constitution says we should not give up.”

In the allegedly censored clip, Snowden also reveals that the U.S. had all of the intelligence regarding the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001 but we unable to connect the dots.

“You know this is a key question that the 9/11 commission considered, and what they found in the postmortem when they looked at all the classified intelligence from all the different intelligence agencies, they found that we had all of the information we needed as an intelligence community, as a classified sector, as the national defense of the United States, to detect this plot,” Snowden said.

“We actually had records of the phone calls from the United States and out. The CIA knew who these guys were. The problem was not that we weren’t collecting information, it wasn’t that we didn’t have enough dots, it wasn’t that we didn’t have a haystack, it was that we did not understand the haystack that we had.”

You can watch the part of the interview that was cut, at the link above. So what do you think? Why did NBC not air this part of the interview? Is there any "new" information we can gleen from Snowdens remarks? Personally, I believe it's nothing we didn't already know, but I think it speaks volumes about the possibility that elements within the U.S government knew the attacks were coming, and did nothing to stop them so they could further a specific geo-political agenda (one which we are still seeing play out today).

What say you ATS?

Duh

the Phoenix FBI office had a tip letter in May 1995...airplanes/crashes/iconic buildings/ Muslims-Zealots
they never contacted the (secretly) named FBI Agent to act as the Lead Investigator into nation-wide Flight-Schools as
the crucible where 'cells' of radical-martyrs would become 'legends'...

Their Loss... why was not a counter-terrorism agency more prominent who could handle such leads... oh--right ...
that FBI (counter-terrorism specialist) Agent was assigned to the WTC just before 'as' the operation took place in Sept 2001

Yes some thing stinks about the way they omitted that part of his story. A sort no go area dont talk about it or even mention it (911). After all we got the memorial museum at ground zero were you can buy mementoes of that terrible crime. A bit like going to belsen and buying mock gas chambers ect. Yes the real story is in the museum or you can watch a movie about that day. But to hell with any truth or facts. MSM is just another arm of the govt manipulating the population to the govts whims or end.

Am I the only person who remembers a couple of months ago when Obama said he was going to put censors in the news rooms?

The entire reason 911 happened was budget and bonuses.

To protect their turf, they did not share information.

They had the information to stop 911.

But, sharing information made your Agency less valuable.

I hope those people responsible enjoyed their bonuses.

What he says is true in that the mass surveillance system in the US is not worth it. It does not confer enough benefit to justify the giving up of our rights. This very tactic was discussed by certain Founding Fathers of the US so long ago, and they concluded that people should be willing to stand up and fight for their rights in such an instance. The tactic of course is giving up rights for "safety" or "protection." It is a facade. I would much rather not be spied on and take my chances with the terrorists. And honestly they are not that big of a threat anyway. Traditional systems should be enough to stop something like 9/11, and the fact that we had all the information we needed to stop it should say something. That is discounting all the conspiracy angles of course, and just assuming that it was nothing more than a terrorist plot by Muslim extremists, a plot that was missed by the US intelligence community.

If it's censored, why was it uploaded to youtube?

So it didn't make it to prime time, fine, say that, but it's not censored is it?

Semantics. That was the language used in the source article. Why do you feel that NBC chose to edit out that segment specifically? Do you feel that is significant in any way?

Well, yeah, they came up with the 9/11 plot, so I'd hope they would have been able to "connect the dots"

When Bushivus II declared war on Iraq, I was perplexed. It didnt make sense to me or to my close friends. It was pre-fabricated plan to tap into Iraqi oil . Plain and simple. I remember Secretary Colin Powell going in front of Congress and the UN, and saying that a vial of some stuff will hill millions of people. Never happened.
Weapons of mass destruction...never found.
Snowden and Assane say the truth. We are being slowly, deliberately driven into a human sheep pen.

If there is a god, may they bless your soul,

This was indeed known already, still good on Snowden to bring it to more awareness.
I doubt this was about "connecting the dots" though. The "attack" could have been avoided... why wasn't it?

The German politician Von Bülow, who was our former minister for research, parliamentary secretary of state in our defence-ministry, and had an important role in parliamentary oversight of our intelligence services, became a persona grata for telling the public that our BND knew AND warned the Americans pre 9/11.
Not a conspiracy theory... fact.

Why don't you ask NBC?

And red herring? How dare you..It's a red herring to say it was censored, when it clearly isn't, since it's there for all to see on youtube!

How stupid can people get??

No need to tell the MSM only news types this info. It might actually help some of them to understand the system isn't about what it claims. Can't have that happen. Thet higher ups in those agencies are not going to allow their jobs to go away.

Only around a quarter of the recent NBC News interview with former intelligence contractor Edward Snowden made it to broadcast, but unaired excerpts now online show that the network neglected to air critical statements about the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

When the four-hour sit-down between journalist Brian Williams and Snowden made it to air on Wednesday night, NBC condensed roughly four hours of conversation into a 60-minute time slot. During an analysis of the full interview afterwards, however, the network showed portions of the interview that didn’t make it into the primetime broadcast, including remarks from the former National Security Agency contractor in which he questioned the American intelligence community’s inability to stop the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

rt.com...

Omg what else did NBC censor?!?

There's 3 more hours of it!

So censored, that the critical 911 comments made it onto youtube!

Or maybe they had to choose, for whatever reason to cut 75% of the interview for the 1 hour prime time interview....

Oh sorry, that's a red herring though, because it's censored but also readily available on YouTube and probably NBC itself...

I feel that Edward Snowden is a traitor, and should be brought back to the United States and put on trial.

None of the things he says are credible. That's why he bolted and went to Russia.

I find it really sad that the media laps up all his lies, and gives him a forum to spout utter crap.
