If time travel was possible, what time and place would you go back to and why?

I would go back in time before my birth and stop myself from being created.

Jesus's death. To see that it really didn't happen.

My birth, because I really believe I was adopted, lol.

LOL I was going to say the above! But I would have said 'to see if Jesus really existed' and 'to see if I really look like the milkman!'

So...I'll have to say something different:

I'd love to travel to England, beginning of the 6th century to see if King Arthur was real.......and to look for Avalon.

Artorius dux Bellorum...check out the Sarmatian connection...If would be funny if King Arthur turned out to be of Iranian blood.. Englands greatest hero of all time is of middle eastern blood..

So many possibilities. The first one I could think of was Pompeii Amphitheatre, October 1971. Wonder if anyone on here will be able to work out why.

I would go back to the time in Adam and Eve era (wearing some leaves) and slapped the forbidden fruit out of Eve's hand, slap her a couple times and find that snake to cut it's headed off, that way we could be living in peace right now without the stress and worries for all of mankind.

I wouldn't be surprised, historians do say that Arthur (if he ever really existed) was probably a Briton of Roman ancestry, a Roman soldier. Many of the mercenaries employed by the Romans were Sarmatians, so there is a possibility that Arthur was actually from Iran.

Not to mention their worship of a sword thrust into the ground...

Quote - "The Sarmatians had a near-religious fondness for their swords: tribal worship was directed at a sword sticking up from the ground, similar to the sword in the stone. They carried standards in the form of dragons. Ossetian Nart sagas contain a number of interesting parallels to the Arthurian legends. First, the life of the Nart warrior (batraz) is tied to his sword, which must be thrown into the sea at his death. When one wounded Batraz asks his last surviving comrade to do the task for him, his companion tries to fool him twice before finally hurling the weapon into the sea; rather like Arthur's wondrous sword Excalibur which had to be returned to the Lady of the Lake at his death by his last surviving knight, Bedivere."

I would like to go back to when Stonehenge was built to see 1, how it was managed and 2, what purpose they had in mind for it. I would also like to revisit through its subsequent transformations to see why they modified it through the ages.

I'd also like to go back to when the pyramids were built to again see the actual purpose of them.

But I'm kind of glad we don't have that option as theorising their purpose is half the fun of them.

Live my prime and working life in the 40s - 60s Detroit. When the American dream was actually achievable for everywhere one. But at the same time watching the world change so much with technology, culture, and achievements.

Haha. Yeah I thought of that, but Detroit wasn't really as bad for that. And it was a time when segregation was starting to diminish.

I find the Arthurian topic so fascinating........and Avalon.....that is the one place/time in the past I'd love to visit...and I will refrain from replying about your latest post cause I don't want your thread to go off topic....but fascinating stuff!!!

Another one is to go to North US or Canada before the European invasion, to observe the Iroquois as one day I had an amazing dream where I was this native girl living in a long house.

Well, I know what Cher would do....
but as for me, there are lots of times and places I'd like to experience.
Do we only get one choice?

I'd like to remote view the lives/or at least the circumstances of my progenitors. I'm into genealogy....
to go back and see how each of the women who eventually resulted in "me" being born lived.

I`d choose the Azores in 13 000 B.C. when Atlantis was in her prime and the women were not only beautiful but they ruled the lands and except for the pesky creepy reptilian dinosaurs, everything was exquisite. Those were the days. If only I could go back just once more to taste the fruit of the tree of life.

I'd go back to these times ... with a video recorder in hand ... to prove/disprove them.

1 - Jesus resurrection from the tomb.
2 - When Muhammad allegedly got his 'visions'.
3 - The times of the Hindu gods having their fights in airships
4 - I'd be present in Fatima on October 13, 1917, standing (or kneeling) Right next to Lucia.

Of much less importance but still of interest, I'd take video recorders to these places

5 - To the moment and place Obama was born
6 - To the JFK assassination. One camera I'd put in Johnsons car, another in the Book building, a third in the grassy knoll, and then a forth in the front seat of JFKs car so I could see exactly what was happening with the people in the front - put to rest the notion that the driver turned and fired.

Then just for fun -

7 - I'd go to the Salem witch trials so I can slap the jury-men upside the head for stupidity.
8 - I'd go to the 1974 and 1975 Stanley Cup final games when the Broad Street Bullies won.
9 - I'd take a list of the big winning lottery numbers and the dates won back to myself.
10 - I'd go back and tell myself not to date two of my previous 'romantic interests'. WASTE of time.

Honorable mention -- if I wasn't too tired from all that, I'd go back to when the Pyramids were built and see who really built them, and when.

If i had the chance to travel back in time, i would choose to have been a witness to The Battle Of Agincourt 1415.
To have seen the thousands of arrows released by the English Longbow Men flying through the sky at the same time must have been an awesome sight.
However pity goes to The Frenchmen who where on the receiving end.

If you ever do, please let me know of the outcomes of your time traveling cause I have the same questions you have about points 1,2,3 and the pyramids!
