Still waiting for the currwnt doom trend. Most ats members believe that there will be a global and Financial meltdown. This situation seems very plausible and only a major war or a skirmish would avoid it (syria/iran?). Still ww3 does seem far fetch to me honestly. But wall street cracking seems the most plausible case compares to ufos, astroids, alien take over, yellowstone

P.s. side note: notice ats don't talk about haarp anymore.

Gee, just go dig a hole and climb in it and wait to die.

My outlook is 1000x better than your in the same climate. Up 247% from last year at the same time. Why am I different than you? I have no skills. Well I do, but they are not university degrees or anything as limiting as that. Why am I better off than you, mentally, physically, financially etc...

Because I believe it. I control my destiny. I don't blame anyone else.

You need help buddy.

Looking at the global financial markets is not doom porn, at this time, it is almost certainty that what has been inflated beyond reason, must be deflated at some point in time, and at our current rate, it will be sooner.

Current the market is traveling a similar trend line to that of 1929, just before the big crash.

So, outlook positive, sure, but reality will crash down on us all. So enjoy your cable tv, ipad, and over-priced coffee.. The writing is on the table, the wall, the floor, the papers, etc.

No doom porn here, just reality.. Thanks for playing.

The next time we see a large downturn will be the end of the US dollar. This is not some doom porn or pie in the sky this is fact. How do I know this........Past history.

Add this to the......FACT.....Anyone making under 14 dollars and hour is going to be screwed in the next 2 years because on inflation and it is very scary. And you heard me right dear readers is you make under this you will not be able to afford housing and food in the very near future.

This is so simple to see by just looking at your grocery bill each week and following the price increases. Inflation is already here and it is about to turn into hyperinflation. Once this happens noting will stop the downward spiral.....NOTHING. The dollar could last a little while longer maybe 2 more years at the most. Your 401k will vanish like a fart in the wind.

What I'm hearing is that this terrible weather is having two negative effects on the economy; keeping people at home when they would normally be out spending money and the increased costs of heating are cutting into discretionary spending. Mind you, this is after the increase in health insurance premiums that just took effect last month. Some are still reeling from the double blow of the insurance costs plus increased heating costs and in some cases, lost wages due to the weather.
I know this is true in our household. We spent the first 12 days of the month ice-bound, spending no money at all beyond heating and lighting our home.
I tend to agree that we're heading for yet another rough patch. It's not doom porn, it's not even a gloomy outlook, just the situation as I see it. As in all disastrous situations, being prepared to ride out the storm will make things much easier. By listening to people who are a lot smarter than are we, my husband and I were able to do okay during the last crash by getting clear before the crash happened.
A complete collapse of the economy? I certainly hope not. Surely there is something the new Fed Chairlady can pull out of a dark place? I'm not sure at this point what can actually be done to stop the inflationary trend. I just know that buying food or supplies with any extra cash you have on hand is a better investment than leaving it in a bank. And, depending on whatever space you can make available, growing a portion of your own food makes a lot sense.
I just keep telling myself---I survived Jimmy Carter's administration---and I can survive the present tribulations!

Whoa, am I reading that wrong, or did the WT, in 2012, actually give a projected date of collapse in this coming March there? o.O I was not aware of it being that well scrutinized at the time.

the math that, imo, will bring the financial sector down is failed states.

just look at how many countries have damaged or collapsed economies, syria, egypt and the dozens of others.

the world financial system has become highly predatory, it's appetite ever growing.

iraq, afganistan, egypt will not recover in decades, if ever, imo.

and every year will add more failed states, some due to religeous conflics, others globilization, debts, revolutions, etc

our modern politicians are front men, the lobbyists rule, political inertia always lead to collapse.

Wow. The OP wasn't blaming anybody for anything, only pointing out the obvious, which you would understand if you knew anything about economics. Let us know how you controlling your destiny works out when our financial system collapses like a house of cards.

Your post is basically bragging on yourself without truly comprehending what is being said.

Since Wall Street was closed today because of Presidents Day the world markets have been flat, but the dollar lost ground today yet again, Italy is moving in a New prime minister, and China is once again trying to balance there budget with so weird strategies. We have here in the states a lower discretionary spending, factory orders are down, beef shortage, and a dozen other weather related items. There is trouble in all places in the world, but the powers to be that controls what happens has been correct since that chart was released, I am believe the end of Feb, beginning of March like someone else said to be a close date. trying to figure out what would cause this to happen but there are to many things to look at, but still there are articles out there saying the bubble is and will burst shortly.

Would it be so soon? What exactly is going to happen at the end of february and march that is going to trigger this particular doom scenario? Is something specific going to happen? Is it a deadline for something? Some special government crisis?

It seems the party the west has enjoyed from debt bubbles has come to end of the road so economy will deflate to a more sustainable level. In the process I hope people find a better way of living instead being enslaved to a lifetime of mortgage payments.
