A lot of good work gets banned and or ignored

I would try to submit it to a publication

Dude it got banned.. yes t and c..
but most of the artsy poets I know actually love that
you now have a story to tell


Honestly
I have no respect for poetry

It will cost me I know
But I entered to get feedback on an area of writing I lack

improvement comes from experience

I want to point out however that the THEME of the contest has to be related to:

1. The ATS Community

2. Valentine's Day.

Some of the current submissions may not quite fit that bill. I'll be reviewing each one and notifying those affected via PM.

This is NOT my third poem for the Poetry contest
but I thought I would post it here..for anyone
whom needs a little chuckle..(and yes - it's a TRUE story)
(my third and final installment will be posted within the next day or so)

"Consummation"

I made you my Wife
And you made me your Groom
The wedding was over
So we went to our room

I wanted you bad
This was stuck in my head
So I took off your gown
And got you in bed

All I could think of
Was to get some 'nookies'
But I was so drunk
I just woofed my cookies..

Actually wrote this on a Valentine's Day over 20 years ago after taking a gamble and losing. Was my first real heart break.

Hope you guys enjoy, as I'm still kinda new at this. Not at writing, but at writing with large audiences in mind.

In 2008 I wrote my one and and only go at Englishish poetry for a valentine poetry contest. I've polished it somewhat but it is mostly intact as it was written to be. I believe I've not written poetry in any language since, so not to worry there is more to come. Though polishing it made me remember the flow one can get into when rhythm and rhyming.
