One of them, David, donates to PBS too.

Among the organizations he has helped support financially over the years is public television, to the tune of about $23 million

David Koch and PBS: The Odd Couple

Why not? It's a nice little TAX write off.

However,

The second-largest private company in the United States, Koch Industries is also a conglomerate, whose subsidiary businesses operate in some of the world's most profitable markets. Given such a diverse portfolio, it's no surprise that the company has spent millions of dollars lobbying the federal government this past decade on a range of issues, from defense appropriations to financial regulatory reform.

CONTRIBUTIONS $24,516,970

LOBBYING $82,132,700

opensecrets.org

So put down the Koch-a-Cola. Neither of them is going to win the "Philanthropist of the Year Award" any time soon.

Unless, of course, they buy it.

The Koch brothers would qualify as progressive as they have many foundations that work for progressive public policies.

So to answer your question: The Koch Brothers

That is why you fail in your own argument.
It isn't "progressives versus repressives" or however you want to style it.
Said my piece...I tried to stop it before it even started...and i didnt have a bajillion dollars...gues what? Your homies, the Koch Bros. Did...did they use their LIBERTARIAN SMARTZ then? No. No need to argue.
This is the same bs that caused Occupy to fail...
Ironic clapping...

All I asked is for an example of a progressive ideologist who is fighting for the end to the Patriot Act.

Came up empty and decided to insult me?

What? I don't have a BILLIONAIRE TO SIDE WITH ME? I am not surprised. Most Billionaires are invested in the WAR GAME. Remember that billion a month that went to "the war effort"...? I do.
Sad...really. you know how heinous this act has been as well as I do and you spend your time doing political demogogaury rather than attacking the source.

All of these cartel kingpins are the same.

Some send money to the left, some send money to the right, but it all goes back down the middle to feed the same hand that gives the continuous middle finger to free market principles. The industries change but the fat cats are all the same.

Spiritual descendants of the same #ers that met and created the Federal Reserve at Jeckyll Island.

No more fighting. These men are not your friends.

Also, on a less dramatic note:

I have been looking at the ACLU for a hour or so now and beside some FOIA requests it seems the Patriot Act has been on the back burner for most part. There was one case that ran from 2004-2010 involving some illegal document requests by the FBI but considering how the new laws are one of the greatest civil liberty threats in history they should be focusing more on it.

If anyone knows any actual real MEATY cases the ACLU has fought let me know.

Oh stop it!

My membership has nothing to do with it!

Koch Bros are doing something positive. Are you all so full of hate that you can't recognize it?

Name me one of your progressive idols that are doing the bloody same?

I think its good. Good on them. The patriot act has been a disaster for America. More plutocrats should be protecting Americans constitution rights.

Ditto. I support them on this as well.
It is about the policies they stand for, not what party they belong to or how much money they have.
If they support Non Interventionist Policies and are against the Patriot Act, then on this I support them.

Unfortunately, many of their other policies swing in the opposite direction where they are a no go for me.

There were parks full of people who disagreed with this...
And you act like the victim...
Don't play coy now.
own it...or disagree with it.
The choice is yours but All of ATS is watching.
Do you stand with billionaire corporate cronyism in the guise of "freedom" (where were THESE BASTIONS OF FREEDOM IN 2001? Thought so)...or do you stand against it?
I'll be watching...

"I" stand for freedom.

I don't care who stands beside me.

I guess you have a quota?

20 million? Is that a drop from their bucket?

Rich people save face and assuage guilt doing things like this.

And to approved entities that don't really change all that much anyway.

Might as well given it to cancer research.

Let me know when they cure either.
