Let me start by saying that in doing this i have put asside all of my beliefs about the 9/11 attacks, this is not a "truther Vs OSer" type of thread.

let me explain....

So today earlier on I started wondering what ATS would have looked like back on September 11 2001.

i knew that the site has been in existence since 1999 so i went hunting through the archives. My initial plan was to put together a huge thread with the highlights of what was said and by whom, however my endeavor was quickly halted. The thing is the ATS archive on this site only goes as far back as January 2003.

I figured this was rather odd so i done some more searching around online and to my amazement found this; Old ATS, now by old i mean this looks like ATS version 1.0.

So i have now been trailing through it all night looking to see what was said on 09/11/01 however I cannot find a thing. In fact I can only seem to find one thread on 9/11 posted a year after the attacks (This one) which to me seems really strange that on or just after 9/11 there are no posts about the attacks.

Then again it is also possible that I have missed the threads.

I must say trailing through old ATS was quite a interesting experience but I was wondering if any of the old timers from old ATS can remember far enough back to tell us what ATS was like that day (Simon perhaps?). I just think it would be really interesting to have a read at what was posted that day or in the days following.

I did notice that most of the threads on the old site seemed to be about UFO's and secret military projects, so i guess it could also be that back then the site was not really about following current affairs as much. I also noticed that it seemed like at times posts were missing, I assume that is just because the site is so old.

Ohhh one very interesting find i did make.

Ex-Joint Chiefs warns of secret aerial operations

Very interesting memo here, written March 12, 2001 to the Pentagon by one of their own former members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Allegations of illegal aerial black-ops...

The link on the to the related article no longer works..... however this was posted in April of 2001, before the 9/11 attacks.

Then again.....

I also found this..... Real Life Power Rangers?

Anyway, like is say I would be really interested to hear from and read what was said about the attacks of 9/11 as the happened or in the weeks following by members of the alternative media but mostly on ATS.

EDIT: I just want to point out this is not a "share your 9/11 story/first opinion" type of thread its about what ATS and others in the alternative media were saying that day or in the weeks after the attacks.

your link does not work, I tried going through the archive on this site but like i say it only goes as far back as January of 2003, not far enough for what i was wanting to do.

However, Bush, like most politicians, is just a puppet to those who fund them and their electoral campaigns all over the world (largely the oil industry and in particular the 'Exxon/Esso' Rockefeller family, and the Rothschilde family).

"Afghanistan was an important Cold War battleground, where the US backed Islamic warriors..."

Face facts: Sept 11 was at the very least financially convenient for these people. They managed both to catch Osama bin Laden AND to get their oil*...

(*Oh, but they never DID get Osama bin Laden, did they: - Only the oil.)

What more do you need, a signed confession?

Please, for the sake of those who died and are about to die, help us to share the truth with as many people as possible.

Reading through the last part here, I get the impression that those posting at ATS back in the day were relatively few, or just plain not interested.

It's very interesting. The whole 911 thing seemed to have spawned quite a few of conversations and was possibly the seed of doubt for many who post regularly here today.

I've often wondered the same thing you are getting at with this thread.... hopefully this thread will go where you want it to go.

I will be following along, hoping for some input from the old timers.

Thanks for making this thread and asking these questions. :-)

I doubt there would have been many people calling this event a false flag back in the day. It is really the following historical decisions made in the name of this event, since it took place.

I must admit I was once a total believer in what we were being told, bought into invading Iraq on what we were being sold.

When did 9/11 become a forum on ATS?

yup totally agree seems so strange though for a conspiracy website not to have been discussing it.

On saying that however it does seem like "9/11 truth" never really took off until 2004/5 so perhaps it is just as a simple matter that nobody who was a member of the site back then really thought there was any grand conspiracy behind it at first.

Well it was 2004ish that the 9/11 truth movement released a statement calling for a new investigation and then the year after that Lose change was released. Those i think are the two things that really started off the truth movement but I have read stuff that was released since before 2004. You can listen to the Alex Jones show from that day on youtube for example talking about how he predicted it and how they were loading up the nuclear bombs

Although again i would point out this is more about what was said on ATS, the above video is still interesting.

it really wasnt till 2003ish that the true 9/11 info started to be known...and back in the day ATS was much different...alot more jabs but alot of really good threads..the first thread i read was about 9/11, the pentagram..err
in 2003, lots and lots of stuff about 9/11

also back in 2003, when i ...joined..there was alot more about secret govt projects and ufos...think about it...10 yars ago, computers were much different and online accesse was waaaaaaaaaaaay different.
now everybody is an 'arm-chair' general and throws thier opinions around like they think they actually mean something......

I know that if I had known about ATS at the time I would have used it as a sounding board for sure. I was overwhelmed at the time with the feeling that something was wrong with the story we were presented with. I just had none to talk about it with and no way to translate my feelings in a way that didn't sound crazy at the time.

I got the feeling that some who were posting on the subject were in the same state of mind, even years after the fact. That last bit in the part I quoted even sound like a cry for someone else out there who might see the truth.

Anyone know where or when the motto "Deny Ignorance" came about?

So fascinating

ETA: Your inquisition leads me to wonder what 911 would have looked like if ATS had been there then at the popularity level it is today. As well, were there any other platforms where people could discuss things of this nature openly?

The Conspiracies about 911 did not happen right away.

It was pretty raw for quite some time.

However, I wasn't around either.

I can read old threads all day long. đź‘Ť

Eric Hufschmid started questioning the official story on January 18, 2002. He read the article “Muslims Suspend The Laws Of Physics” by Jim McMichael. He credits an internet personality called Geeman for pointing this article out to him.

“On the 18th of January I was looking through some of Geeman's links and I came across an article that seemed familiar. This article suggested that explosives were used to destroy the towers. The explosives did not seem to be the familiar aspect of this site, however. Rather, the remarks about pancakes and Muslim magicians seemed familiar. It was that article by Jim McMichael with the title “Muslims Suspend The Laws Of Physics”. Now, in mid-January, I understood what he was complaining about, although I still had not figured out what the pancakes had to do with the collapse.”

I found this after googling The History of 911 Conspiracies And now I'm wondering who this Geeman guy was. Anyone remember this Avatar or internet personality? Maybe here is a good place to start. I can't seem to find anything as of yet.

Nice find, thanks for that.

very interesting but I am still hoping that a old timer who was about for the old ATS can elaborate further on this thread.

I learned of this site in January of 2002. because of the name and that I had a TS and worked in a commcen pulling messages< I stayed away. The Electronic techs told me about it.

What I do know, is there was MUCH arguing over the WTC buildings coming down. My unit had just went on deployment and we had just returned from a trip to vegas. Some of us had on a previous 'vegas run' watched an old hotel or casino get demo'd.

When we saw the WTC buildings half of us talked about how it looked EXACTLY the same and most of our unit agreed that "the planes had to have some bombs on board".

Having a former Army EOD SSGT among us, he stated "no way a plane did that without explosives involved" " look at the buckling on the corners of the building"

I personally was involved in a mad rush to pull message traffic as fast as possible, the CO,XO and OPS were wanting to read every clas message ASAP.

There was a message that talked about how a CIA agent through London had a Satphone conversation on Sep 12. with Osama Bin Laden.

Having seen 9/11 on TV the day it happened, I was always skeptical of what was being said regarding Iraq. When Dr. David Kelly was killed, that was all the proof I needed that we were being lied to. This however, would be 2003, so I wouldn't expect much questioning before that time frame. People may have had doubts, but likely weren't vocalizing them at that time.

Great thread!

well after doing some digging trying to find othe old threads that i began to read and looking back thru my old threads.....alot of it is gone...websites gone, links no longer active.....and you know,,if its not on the web it must not be ...real...

sorta funny that i dont have a single ....book..you all remeber those
, about 911, i have abunch about the moon, and other facts but nothing on 911...the scourge of the info age i guess...i'll have to go look thru the dozens of cds i have with saved articles...back when they didnt have dvds, memory sticks, cloud servers(hosted by those who dont want info out there too long) ect ect.

the web may still be ..sorta of an open source for info, but that info is slooooowly being clouded and lost...save it now. now that computers have hundreds of gigs and not just a couple of gigs

On 9/11/2001, the discussion board portion of ATS was rather small and not very active, however, there were a few members taking notice, including myself.

The reason you can't find the threads is because we were running on "Ikon Board" at the time, which was very buggy, crashed, and the data not portable to another platform.

I'm a bit preoccupied with real-life stuff right now, but a bit later I'll post my recollections of what happened on ATS at the time. Conspiracies were immediately discussed, but not what you'd expect.
