Who knew he had it in him.

OK so it is kinda ironic that a man who commands multi million dollar contracts for a couple months of his time is talking about wealth redistribution but it doesnt make what he say any less true.

There is nothing in this video that any member on here would be unaware of and he doesnt really get too specific but I think it great to see people of his calibre and charisma levels talking about this stuff.
His reach compared to the Alex Jones and David Ickes is huge, I really feel like a conciousness shift is coming, people are waking up and the more MSM types like Matt Damon who can help spread the message the quicker we will ALL be awake.

I know its sounds kinda wanky but seeing stuff like this actually gives me hope.

Matt Damon just made a new fan

He does seem to be a cool guy...wouldn't be surprised if he's a regular on ATS TBH, a lot of what he says has been said on here many times before now. Think he also had some input on a 9/11 video documentary...can't remember the name offhand, but it may have been one of the loose change docs.

Also have a look at another famous American Actor who is standing up for truth.

Woody Harrelson: Ethos documentary. A good watch regarding the banking industry and their corruptions.

Over an hour long, but worth watching if you have the time to spare.

I believe hes talking about this one. I don't trust these multi-million pound revolutionary's , for an actor that remembers lines for a living he cant remember any of his speech he apparently wrote, he's looking at the speech after every few words... But anyway it does contain a good message.

He's reading somebody else's speech, if this was the intended op video.
Not his own words!

Matt Damon reading a speech that Howard Zinn gave in 1970 as part of a debate on civil disobedience. Damon is a lifelong friend of Zinn and his family. Zinn was known as a historian, playwright, author and social activist. The speech was part of an event called ‘The People Speak, Live,’ and was produced by ‘Voices of a People’s History,’ which gives public expression opportunities to rebels, dissenters, and visionaries of the past and present.

The main point of the speech is that our issue is not disobedience, it’s obedience.

It's not his speech, it's Howard Zinn.
There's a different between remembering a few lines that you film over and over again, then a break, then film the next few lines.

Film is not theater.

What difference does it make if he didn't actually originate those words?

None.

Does a preacher read his own words when reading his or her holy book?

Does a politician read his or her own words when making a speech?

No, they don't.

If a piece of writing is worth repeating, those repeating it usually agree with the content such that they are prepared to propagate the sentiments contained within.

It matters NOT whether the speaker actually wrote or originated the words, it matters that they support and disseminate them.

Matt Damon the champion of public schools and its teachers but sends his own children to private schools, that Matt Damon. And now because he rereads a Zinn speech he is to be taken seriously? I think not.

Doesnt matter who wrote it! Matt reading it with conviction gives it more credence. Its the message that matters and its a good one!!
Time for the masses to remove their security diapers and stand up and be counted and stop cowling behind their indifference, insecurities and deluded selfish perceptions that "well things are not so bad for me".

Just turning the other cheek or a blind eye doesnt make the situation or problem go away it only delays the greater pain and suffering later. Because things have to get worse before they will ever get better. So sooner the reaction the sooner the action. Where is the sense of collective, fellowship, standing side by side for what is right?

To suffer with a brother is only a buffer to effect necessary change, so get tougher and get off the tit of your mother, be responsible and demand something other (Better)!!!

It doesnt matter if WE take him seriously or whether we like him or not.
What matters is someone mainstream who is respected by the general public, who is seen to be of sound body and mind is trying to bring this stuff to peoples attention.
Heck I dont even care what his motivations are, the more people who are exposed to these issues the better.

At least as a major media figure he's speaking on the side of the people.
Now if he would just reject partisan politics for the theater that it is.
He of all people should recognize it.

Another Damned if you do and damned if you don't.

So he is rich, he made his money the land of the devil, so he sends his kids to probably the richest school/best school he saw fit.
Does any of this really affect the speech?

Was he always rich beyond his wildest dreams?

When he got rich should he have suddenly gave it all back and made his kids go the same school as he did (no idea where that was).

Are we all so holier than thou that we wouldn't live a little better if we were rich?

^ then you realise the Rich and poor argument is mentioned, divide and conquer...

Why not assess every issue on the issue itself instead of towing party lines, class arguments, where his kids go to school, even how he made his living.

Could he be a puppet? Of course but not one shred of proof says he is.

I think famous people who use their fame to draw attention to this subject can only be a good thing, it can make people who ordinarily might not be exposed to this subject aware.

If you look at the masses who get their news from the TV or newspapers, it becomes harder for the average person to get the word out through all that BS. Fame can cut through it and in order to spark change you need every tool available.

More socialist drivel. You have Russell Brand spouting the same stuff, I guess he appeals to the hipsters and alternative types, Damon for another type, next will be a celebrity woman...
Kinda makes me think the masses are being incited to revolt so they can bring in a tightly controlled socialist system.

Already happened..the celebrity Woman that is.

Roseanne Barr has been speaking out on various 'alternative topics for a number of years now...that's probably why she went from comedy heroine to many people, (never thought she was particularly funny myself) to virtually zero air time almost overnight. (I DO like her much more now she's showing what comedians the politicians are).

So of course, by speaking against the mainstream Ms. Barr is now a "nutter".

Charlie Sheen needs no explanation..he's speaking out on various topics too.

So of course, by speaking against the mainstream Mr. Sheen is now a "drugged up nutter".

Matt Damon, is being discussed right now as a 'lefty idealist hypocrite"

Woody Harrelson is also discussed as a druggy lefty.

Our own Robbie Williams is a member here (or at least used to be, i don't know what his name on here is/was) and has been villified for his views on alternative science and on existence / visitation of ETI.

Looks as though he has come through it after making some appeasing comments here and there.

There are others in the public eye who risk their reputations and careers to stand with the people and declare their views, i salute these people...they are braver than i am and deserve more consideration for their courage of conviction, regardless whether we share their opinions and views or not.
