"Hi. I would like to buy a computer. "

"which kind? You got Mac, or window. "

"Hm, I think I'll take window. Bill Gates supposedly upgraded it, rigth? "

"You don't want to buy that window. It crashes quite often. "

"Why? It's not like if it's a coarse language or something. It's just Bill Gates' window. "

Click "quote" to read what I really wrote...

I had no idea you were on the urban legend acceptance board and committee. How do you guys determine what stays and what goes? I am sure to keep it impartial you keep you own personal opinions out of the mix. That would be the only honorable way.

I am not sure anything as trivial as this can qualify. Dismembered bodies with no forensic evidence on them, left in public places, sewer aligators, masked vigilantes, and bands of cultist officials, using their civic position to cover up darker activities... those qualify. A random balls up on the web? Nahhh.

Besides, in order to be a true Urban legend, the legend must be centred in an urban environment. The internet however is socially and geographically transcendant, so whatever happens within it cannot so be called!

Well if you think about it you can how it went unknown for so long. Think , just how often do you put the word 'window' at the end of a sentence anywhere. Now just think how often the word 'window' is put at the end of a sentence here on ATS. ATS could be one of a very few if not only web sites that this happens on. I wonder what other words are out there that could do odd things when typed in a text window (no period)

This might be a jquery parser bug and when it finds certain terminology it might parse that as well by accident. I wonder if it does the following...

window Window
target Target
blank Blank
tab Tab

_window _Window
_target _Target
_blank _Blank
_tab _Tab

"When I type the word "window", it appears fine when I am composing my post, but when I actually go to post it, it comes out as an underscore... like this _.

Anyone else having this problem?

Heres an example...

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Last paragraph, third line in.

OH! I've been "lurking" awhile, finally joined, and was going to ask why everyone used _. instead of window, didnt make sense to me, thought it was a quirk of this community lol

window is a keyword used in _javascript, I think therein lies the problem.
window with a period is used in _javascript to indicate something within the window
Being as HTML5 is heavily dependent on the use of _javascript Im sure thats the problem.

EDIT: Notice the underscore added to the word _javascript, I think we have a winner.

Another ISSUE, I'm noticing today for the first time . . .

Way back . . . there was a commitment on the part of ATS's leadership that members who earned however many points and WATS scores etc.

would no longer have to put up with the ads in the threads.

NOW I NOTICE there's a very annoying and intrusive ad at the top of every thread on refresh etc.

Frankly, I consider that a broken promise, a broken contract between the leadership and the members. I'm not overjoyed about it.
