Odd glitch when I type the word "w i n d o w"

When I type the word "window", it appears fine when I am composing my post, but when I actually go to post it, it comes out as an underscore... like this _.

Anyone else having this problem?

How were you able to type the word window in your post there?

EDIT:

That's weird.

When I quote the post that you linked to, the word window appears in place of the underscore.

However, it is the window and the period.

I have no idea! This is not the first time I have noticed it, but it does not always happen. Its a bit odd. I cannot understand how a glitch can be so fickle, but it has happened before, and I just brushed it off, but now that it has happened again, I am a little confused and concerned.

I am running vista, and Firefox, and this is the first time I have had this issue, even though I have been using this set up for a year or more. I always use firefox.

Look at my post. It got me too when I typed "side-window" and put the period right after the word "window"

Well just look at that. If you put a period after the word "window" it will get replace with a _

The curse of the underscore spares no one it seems! What the heck is that all about do you suppose? I mean, it seems pretty harmless as balls ups go, but I have no idea why its happening.

You have dirty dirty fingers, and ATS has to censor your use of the word window because it was to sensual, even for the spell checker...

But mostly, I have no idea. Maybe you are haunted by a ghost in the machine.

For nearly 15 years, be it on mac or pc, i couldn't save any document by the name of "Page 006", nor write it on a cd... it would get corrupted.

EDIT: window. Indeed, the dot kills the window.

For a while you couldn't enter the word "dongle" without it inserting a space mid-word.

I did too. Took me three times to realize it was a glitch.

Thank goodness I didn't use the word again. But I would love the answer.

I can not find anything on the Internet about this. Lets see what happens when I put 2 periods or more after the word

EDIT=Seems the number of periods does not mater. But here is something I did find out. If the W in window is capital letter it does not happen. It only happens when the letter is lower-case

I am thinking just how often do you put a period after the word window? I am betting this is a glitch that has been around for 20 or 30 years and you just found it after all this time.By the way seems the number of periods does not mater.
