Active Shooter in Garden State Plaza Mall, New Jersey

County officials confirmed that there is an “active shooter” in the Garden State Plaza Mall.

County Spokeswoman Jeanne Baratta said that SWAT teams have been activated. No further information is available

Just happening now, didn't see any other threads, looking for a scanner feed. All i've heard so far on one scanner feed was a guy dressed in camo with an assault rifle

Has the whole world gone mad? What the hell is going on lately? Is life really that bad, or are there just more crazy people on the loose not getting the proper mental care that they need?

How is it that states that have the tightest gun control laws have all the shooters running around....
We will find out in a day or two they just practiced a active shooter drill a few days to a few weeks ago...

I got my scanner going. Bergen county east EMS, Police, and fire.

Just heard that they're going to go in with full body armor. 1 shooter/suspect.

they have a helicopter on the scene too.

If you have an Iphone, use Cop Radio. Browse by country/state/city.

It like a Christmas tree in that parking lot.
I can't tell how many cops are there.

Clackamas Mall shooting stopped when confronted with a CCW carrier in violation of the "gun free zone" three dead, one of which the shooter who ran when confronted and shot himself.

Certainly this is a complex issue, mass shootings are becoming a daily headline, either they are happening more, or someone is jumping on every chance to shove these in our face for an agenda.

Oh, good, The over amped media coverage of the over reacting police response to the last shooting at an extra public place is bearing even more fruit.

They just eat this up. Another terrible, awful, Gun Violence moment presented to you by all the people that want to take away your guns to prevent these terrible awful events from happening.

Never minding of course that the medias attention focused on these events is what draws the borderline attention getters to go off and repeat yesterdays tragedy again and again.

BREAKING UPDATE: PEOPLE INSIDE THE GARDEN STATE MALL HIDING IN CLOSETS AND IN THE BATHROOMS AFTER SHOTS FIRED AND SUSPECT AT LARGE.

They have not made contact with the perp. they only have only got second hand alerts from callers.

They just videoed through the window and there must have been 50 75 cops standing in the lobby.
Think they will loot it like Kenya Mall?

CNN is reporting that the shooter is still at large in the mall; the mall is on lockdown Not much is really known yet.

I would like to add (and I know it is not just me)...but what the (blank) is going on this year!

This year of 2013...attacks like the one that is happening now...are happening more and more.

Seriously...do we all need to avoid going to malls and/or even being in a crowd anymore?
