Please don't put words in my mouth. The MSM has been saying this since 2000/2001 that Iran is 6 months to two years away from a nuclear weapon. Don't believe me then do the research yourself and you find article after article saying as such.

Becky, please keep straight your wars, events and issues. It's very critical in this sort of thing and I've spent a semester already listening to an instructor who doesn't know Sunni Islam from a Sunny Day or Shia from a shoe shine.

Iran *DID NOT* have *ANYTHING* to do with 9/11. Not even a teeny tiny little bit. They are DIRE ENEMIES of those who DID pull 9/11 on us (with or without conspiracy added, as preferred). Yes.. Iran did do 1979. Iran was also supporting Hezbollah when we lost 2 U.S. Embassies in a row in Lebanon and 1 U.S. Marine Barracks.

Yes.. We do owe Iran a bit of payback for some of that ...and then again, perhaps 20 years is a bit long to hold that level of grudge to still be willing to go to guns on the matter. Again impossibe. To fly to the USA from any of these area now the planes would need to be searched at airports. You cant just load a nuke onboard, there are radiation detectors at airports that can detect a nuclear device a mile off, there are detectors that can detect convential explosives.

Iran has every right to develop a domestic nuclear power programme - who is the 'the west' or anyone else to deny them this?
The development and possession of nuclear arms is a completely diferent issue altogether.

The technical facts is that Iran has been hell-bent on acquiring a uranium enrichment capability far beyond the needs of their one, single, nuclear power plant whose fuel is being supplied by Russia anyway.

It literally makes no sense unless they're pursuing nuclear weapons. And add to that a reactor which is well designed to make weapons-grade plutonium which they are starting. There is significant evidence (just read IAEA) reports of quite suspicious activities.

If Iran sincerely wanted to convince IAEA that they have no weapons intention or capability, as their stated policy says, they could do so. They do not. Perhaps they may change their mind.

Remember, the international weapons inspectors went into Iraq in 2002 and 2003 and did NOT find any signficant problems or major areas of suspicion. The situation is different with Iran.

If Iran were a secular democracy (or semi-democracy) it likely wouldn't be a problem.
