I think a thread is a bit too restricted, with not enough ease of use (especially if a large amount of ideas are explored).

Like I said, the site is in the works
I think that will be much more conducive to what can be accomplished when working together.

No matter who the person is, if they were to say the things Brand said and with the passion he said it I would take note. Like he says in the second video posted, thanks for objectifying me. Brand, me, you, and everyone else with consciousness are a subject. Objects can never be the subject, saying an object defines the subject is like being in the dark with a flashlight pointing it around at things and saying, "Thats the source of this light, no wait" moves the flashlight to a different thing, "that's where it's coming from." Granted, socialism wouldn't be a lasting system in my opinion, but I don't think he's thinking about the afterwards yet. He just wants change, and that's a step in the right direction

Great guy with with a serious and dangerous proposal to start a revolution... I do see the urgency that change really has to come , because there are to many things going on right now that are totally out of context in the world today..

But watching him I wonder if he's the new comedian messiah or the revolutionary jack sparrow on the run for leadership to find utopia?

First reaction purely on the title. Russle Brand is an (ex) junkie and a media whore. Why should we listen to him? Now I will watch the video on which I am supposed to comment

Brilliant , couldnt of put it better myself. The message has the same relevance for me regardless of who says it, the impact has been magnified for me though because of who has said it. because that in itself confirms to me that we are in fact moving nearer to an enormous shaking up of the world as we have come to know it. that can not be bad, surely?!?!

So, instead of being inspired by Brand (regardless of who/what he is) and starting to come up with solutions, we decide to continue the same division that allows small groups to profit off of everyone else.

His basic point to me is;

There are problems with how we run things. How can we run things differently to do better?

Who cares who Brand is? He is just a part of the same system the rest of us are involved with. Focusing on him instead of working towards a better tomorrow might just be the type of perspective that got us here in the first place..

If you will, try making the thread title for your think tank more dramatic to catch people's eye. Something like, "Peaceful Revolution Think Tank: if we put our minds together, any problem can be solved." I would love to see a 100 page thread with everyone constructively contributing.

I'm thinking about joining over at Freedom Force International. That's the great G. Edward Griffin's nascent organization that somehow I just looked into today. Google him and his org if you aren't up on it guys! Right now!

OK, when he gets going he is an eloquent speaker, however what he is calling for is forced ground leveling, I.e. communism which does not serve the need for innovation. When has any communist society ever been interested in pushing the boundaries of human experience. Yet the rhetoric which he calls for embodies this, and with the underlying theocracy he espouses, it is nothing more than an oxymoron.

I love the guy but fear he's going to get sucked into the socialist left side of things.

I hope he doesn't think communism is the answer. He's can't speak so much truth and be fooled by socialist ideals can he?

I like Russell Brand I think he's funny and sharp minded and if we had a system where he could stand for election as leader of my country I would vote for him .
It is time for a revolution but the people of this country are drowning in apathy , spoon fed their news and lobotomised by what passes for entertainment .... the revolution will not be televised because no one can be bothered to start it .
We don't need a leader. The need for a leader comes out of fear. We need teamwork, and the will to get things done instead of talking about how great it'd be if it happened. Example, people coming together and creating farming communities. So self sufficient that they won't use money. If it spread enough, it would be a peaceful revolution and everyone in government would be out of the job

I've been interested in some of the things Michael Tellinger has to say. Some of his theories might not be for everybody but his ideas on how society could be started again seem to have some merit.

This vid is worth a watch for those who haven't seen it. He gets more political in the second hour of it - youtu.be...

This ATS thread discusses the video and his research - www.abovetopsecret.com...#

You know, the only thing that has ever been wrong with communist or socialist based societies, is that they have never been correctly or fairly administrated. Power, remains with the powerful, it's just the faces that change.

However, if a totally distributed system were to be devised, where no one had more power, influence, or money, than anyone else, then things would develop according to the priorities of the people, rather than large corporations.

Yea I agree communism isn't the answer, but at least he might possibly wake some people up. The second video is better IMO, he tells the hosts flat out that its wrong to objectify people. He mentions the medias influence on consciousness, and how they negatively affect it by manipulating the information in order to fit an agenda. The second video is on someone's comment on the first page.

True, but who would decide what the priorities of the people are? Voting? There is a lot of room for corruption to eventually creep in. In my opinion, when money is no more corruption will be no more. Stealing would cease to exist because if it were done correctly, their would be abundance. Treatable mental illness would lower because stress would lower.

I agree, but that it not socialism, or communism, but commune-sim. I.e the pure works of Karl Marx. Adn jjst like capitalism, when will communism every work. IN a case of mass wealth distribution in a country, what benefit is there for any company to remain in that country? none! They will leave, and that their job s with them. This is why communism relies on massive nationalization. Bafoons like Brand spout this stuff, and it sounds good, and challenges peoples beliefs, OK, however, if his ideals were put into practice, would ANY company sit by and say OK we will give this a try? no. without a doubt, NO.
