Obamacare is a scam the biggest scam in the history of this nation, it will handle the working class to be mandated and taxed at will while the very poor can not be mandated and taxed but neither will receive subsidies and will not be able to pay for any insurance at all.

People needs to realized that in America nothing is for free and the nation is run by a corporate dictatorship that their only purpose is to profit from somebody else livelihood.

It is a template for affordable health care and are you counting Enron? The Nation is being influenced by a Corporate dictatorship and they don't want to give their employees healthcare. That is why they are fighting to end this and to de-regulate everything that can be de-regulated. They don't want the government assuring people are safe in their jobs and don't have to worry about the next illness bankrupting them. What do they care if you die? They will hire someone else. According to Corporate dictatorship (and by the way they can't be both corporate and dictatorship) it is a "Corporatocracy" consisting of a conglomeration of our largest industries beginning with defense contractors and the oil industry soon to add health care, drugs and prisons. Private industries sees these 3 areas as ripe for profits. Somebody elses livelihood? It is the sweat of your brow and you should get healthcare if you are working - it is your livelihood, not Walmarts or the oil, coal and gas corporation swindling you out of overtime, pensions and health benefits. It is the Corporatocracy and the GOP and Tea Party funded by the Koch Brothers, Waltons and the Rockefellers that are behind them.

Completely agree Indigo5. Not sure there has been a congress that has been more ensconced in partisanism than the one we currently have. If they would stop arguing and posturing completely for the sake of party politics we could actually get things done.

The time to get things "done" was years ago.

The only thing to get done is watch it all fall apart.

Not sure if you knew that the uninsured got treatment and state welfare covered them. It was illegal to reject someone that was uninsured. I am talking about those that could not afford medical coverage.

State welfare covered food stamps and medical treatment.

I'll treat this question as genuine? In order for state welfare to cover the medical expenses one must first qualify for welfare. So Joe Blow that makes 50k per year, but whose wife who is uninsured...has had a pre-existing condition, which can be simply Childbirth in the last 12 months or a single abnormal papsmear...his wifes appendix bursts...That is 50K in bills. This happened to a good friend of mine. They threatened seizure of his home in court proceedings unless he dwindled his income/savings to the poverty level and declared bankruptcy.

So how does he pay that? By your example he must first exhaust every nickel he has and then declare bankruptcy.

Biggest cause of personal bankruptcy: Medical bills

It's always time to get things done. Partisan gridlock has screwed things up here in the US for quite a while now.

I'll sit back and see what happens with the ACA. If it falls apart so be it if it really does work that would be awesome. We're ranked 36th in the world for health care delivery so we have to start somewhere. The ACA definitely isn't perfect by any means but at least it's an attempt. No one that has opposed the ACA has offered an alternative. So this is what we have. I guess we'll just have to cross our fingers and see how it goes
