Don't tempt me ..
Iran wants any excuse it can find to attack the US. It's pathological with their leadership. The last 'president' of Iran was praying (literally) for the world to sink into chaos and world war so his imaginary 12th Imam could come, with Jesus as his sidekick, to make the entire world Muslim. The leadership there is full of whackadoos. Come to think of it .. a lot of the world leadership is ....

I found myself agreeing with you until your last line.
Who cares if your partner is American.
I'll say this... The US isn't innocent in all of this. But this site makes me sick..it's always our fault because other countries can't control their #. That makes me angry.

Do you really feel that our military is that weak? Do you not have the faith in our soldiers to bring victory if we are thrust into another World War?

Look at it this way...our American ancestors fought their civil war and this is what we we're left with (think about that). Hence, no one dared step in and by the way would they really have wanted them too? I think not. If a civil war broke out tomorrow in our country (which it won't...EVER AGAIN) would we want a foreign nation sticking its nose in our business? Speaking personally, I wouldn't appreciate anyone getting involved in our domestic/civil disputes...no matter the cost.
Alireza Forghani, the former governor of southern Iran’s Kish Province, threw down the gauntlet last week. Forghani is an analyst and strategy specialist in the supreme leader’s camp and closely aligned with Mehdi Taeb, who heads the regime’s Ammar Strategic Base, a radical think thank, and thus speaks with the blessing of the Islamic regime.
“Hopefully Obama will be pigheaded enough to attack Syria, and then we will see the … loss of U.S. interests [through terrorist attacks],” he threatened. “In just 21 hours [after the attack on Syria], a family member of every U.S. minister [department secretary], U.S. ambassadors, U.S. military commanders around the world will be abducted. And then 18 hours later, videos of their amputation will be spread [around the world].”

I'll just say this :
at Iran.
Who cares. They need to blow themselves up already.
ETA : I don't say this often..but seriously.we need to bomb the middle east back into the stone age. They want to threaten us? Lets show them what we can REALLY do.

What good will that do? It would just be proof positive yet again that we're a power & control hungry country hellbent on dominating anything not exactly like us, anywhere we can find it. One of these days, in one of these ill-gotten fights somewhere, we'll get our ass handed to us, and be reminded rather painfully that we are not King of Everybody.

The British did provide limited material support and military advisors to the Confederacy.
Wait a minute, I see history repeating itself....again. Different players, but the same crappy game.

You're talking as though the Middle East are naughty children and now we the parent's have to instill some discipline. You're sick to death of hearing about ME problems, I'm sure the people of ME countries are sick to death of the West exacerbating their problems. They haven't asked us to help sort their religious wars, we poked into it for completely different reasons, to exploit the chaos and tip the resources into our favor.
...and there's not a 2-year-old out there who can match the force of a healthy 20-year-old man. That's why the bigger one should exercise restraint of his force, and good judgement at all times- in the name of fairness and humanity.

While I agree to an extent, really there's not a ONE country out there that can handle the US. There's just not.
Of course. I fully understand. Most everyone feels that way. But I believe it is the war mongers in government, aided by MSM who are driving this train you/we loathe.
I said what I said because I'm tired. I'm sick of hearing about the middle east and all their conflicts. NOT MY PROBLEM. Nor is it any other American's problem, this # needs to stop and they need to handle their own problems.

Well this was to be expected. In many ways this seems to be a proxy war between Iran and the Saudi's for regional dominance. I believe that the US has been trying to coax iran into striking them so they can get their war happening.
There are SO many reasons for the US to invade syria in so far as the name of imperialism and another 'american century' goes, its just a bummer that none of those are humanitarian reasons.
It is my opinion that this will be a final nail in the coffin for the empire, people can see the agenda and the lies and its all becoming more and more obvious. Next to Putin its actually Obama that seems to be the war criminal. Maybe the Russians are actually the good guys..wouldnt that blow some minds...
If The US strikes Syria they are ensuring their own destruction, maybe thats what the banksters want though..think about it.
