It seems very clear to me fox news is very conservative and paints liberals to be psychotic, delusional people. CNN paints conservatives to be backwoods people who have long been left behind by the world. IMO, they both have a clear agenda: one putting a hard right slant on the news, while the other puts a hard left slant.

Now my question. What is RT's "agenda"? I am aware that many members on ATS are not fans of RT. Perhaps because of the Russian association? I'm not sure. I know they have gotten some things wrong in the past, so maybe that's it.

Anyway, I ask you again, what is RT's agenda?

*If this is in the wrong forum I apologize.

It seems the others have very clear agendas without even knowing who owns them.

RT is a mouthpiece for the kremlin basically. They started out as quite decent news agency, but have become farcical and transparent in their hatred towards the west and the united states in particular. Just treat them like fox news or Alex Jones, entertaining sometimes, but don't ever take them seriously.

I have been watching them from time to time recently and almost all of the issues they talk about are talked about hear on ATS, while it is clear the other news agencies ignore them. I have not found them to be a network there for entertainment value. Maybe I just need to keep watching to see it.

I don't know, personally I have nothing against RT and have watched various stories from them, and from doing so, I can't really gauge an agenda left or right, it seems to me that you can say their agenda is in the middle? Maybe they realized that since no one is offering unbiased news, that maybe a network that tries to stick in the middle, might be good?

i mean, I've seen them report stuff I didn't agree with, then 15 minutes later be talking conspiracy.

It could be a long con. Get enough people over to viewing you before you start putting out straight up propaganda.

PressTv is an example, you can find honest, unbiased stories on there, and outright propaganda.

Maybe i just pick the stories too well, but I've never really seen that myself from them, at all. Well, let me re-phrase that. Anything I've seen there that *might* be construed as anti-us I've seen posted by users here, never once being accused to being anti-us or anti-west.

Don't believe everything you read and watch, of course, words to live by.

From your first link:

Often, it seemed that Russia Today was just a way to stick it to the U.S. from behind the façade of legitimate newsgathering.

LOL that's too funny. It's not that the stories are untrue, no, they aren't, it's that the US would rather have them be ignored than reported.

Wow. Now I get the agenda, but it aint RT's

Fox …you hate Americans. Glenn Beck, you hate Americans. Because you lie to them, you scare them, you try to warp their minds. You tell them that we’re becoming some socialist country…. You’re not on the side of America. And the fact that my channel is more honest with the American people is something you should be ashamed of.

If a reporter on RT said that on air, which she did, I think I'll start watching it more. The thing I want to know is if RT is allowed to lie. Fox is allowed to lie. NBC is allowed to lie. CNN is allowed to lie, is RT allowed to lie? Do they have that same law applying to them?

And compared to RT and Fox

take CNN, CBS, MSNBC, ABC, BBC, Al Jazera

far, far, far, far, far, FAR LESS seriously.

They all are mouthpieces of the globalist oligarchy . . . propagandizing, mass brain washing, deluding, snookering, blathering the sheeple.

The irony is that news.com.au is a partner of RT. On the thread that was linked here, there was a link to the list of RT's partners that listed news.com.au as a partner. The partner page has since been removed as it now a 404. What makes the blasting of Fox ironic is that News.com.au website is run by News Limited. Who runs News Limited and Fox both? Rupert Murdoch Strange, isn't it that they would attack one of their partners? It's a pity that they took down that page soon after Severin posted it. However, considering their number one target market seems to be disenfranchised Americans, which would include CT's, not sure surprised in the slightest that it is now 404.

Now if you want to get really freaky on relationships, you know how the tagline for RT is "question more"? Well, Discovery Channel's science tagline is "question everything". science.discovery.com... Golly, look at that line up of shows. Who do you think their target market is? What makes this really cute is that Discovery channel is spun off from Liberty Media. Liberty Media is run by John Malone, long time friend and sometime "adversary" of Rupert Murdoch--and also the same guy who bailed Murdoch out of bankruptcy years ago. Cute, eh?

So you have a channel dissing Fox, which is run by one of their partners and they and the other buddy of that same partner are targeting the same market and have cute little taglines of the same theme. Straight out of conspiracy ville.

Anyway, I ask you again, what is RT's agenda?

It's a Russian-owned, state-controlled media, tasked by Putin to shed a negative light on the United States and a positive light on Russia.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE RT!!!!!!!!

All news is biased, but I get to see stories about stuff happening in the States that none of the others, such as cnn, msnbc, fox, etc, will cover.

So then what I find out on RT, i do extra research on the net to solidify and make sure!!!!

A study just came out tthat RECORDS AMOUNTS of Americans are watching RT

I felt RT was targeted at already disillusioned Americans to try and sow further division between the broader populace and their officials by constantly placing and maintaining the blame and focus on their activities.

Yep. It was launched through RIA Novosti.

RIA Novosti’s history dates back to June 24, 1941 when by a resolution of the USSR Council of People’s Commissars and the Communist Party Central Committee, “On the Establishment and Tasks of the Soviet Information Bureau”, the Soviet Information Bureau (Sovinformburo) was set up under the USSR Council of People’s Commissars and the Central Committee.

RT is Russia's "western" face: www.rianovosti.com...

"We want to reflect the Russian opinion of the world, and we want Russia to get clearer visible," said Margarita Simonyan, project manager.

Kind of speaks for itself, does it not?

News.com.au isn't really a news source site, it's more of a cut and paste blog using material from other sources, RT, I believe is just one of many.
