This moment is as it is. It is only a lie if that is how you make it out to be, in your mind, your conscious awareness of the world.
The ideas and concepts arising in presence can never make presence a lie.

Sure they can. People delude themselves all the time. Bad data happens, and the observers often choose to ignore what is observed. The ideas are only as good as the data collected.

The lies would be in the ideas and concepts.
There is reality
There is our perception of reality, our conscious.
There is the truth, how this world fits together.
There is our ability to see the truth.
There is our failure to see the truth.
Where do you place presence into the mix?
I think a good question worth answering is "What are we investigating when we we are looking for consciousness?"

But there is a past, and a truth about the past, and what has happened in the past is very important, as is looking into the future. Life is about making assumptions based on past experiences, in order to predict likely outcomes in the future.

And everyone has their version of the present, what they believe is going on around them as it actually occurring is no closer to the truth than what they think happened in the past, or will happen in the future.

To deny the past is to ignore the truth about this world, and the same goes for the future.
