You are more than welcome my friend but the path to Canadian citizenship is not as easy as you would think due to recent immigration reforms. But, let me warn you, this place is just as messed up. I think the world notices it less due to our smaller population and lesser activity on the geopolitical stage.

The "Us" was the world in general, in case you haven't noticed, your country is not the only nation that has affiliations which are meant to divide and conquer the populace. Out here we have NDP, Liberals, Conservatives as our main parties, we have left/right, and many other variables.

By the way, I lived in your country long enough where I could have gained citizenship if I wished to do so ( I clearly did not ). I also live on the border, and have a career where your country's political decisions affect me in a major way. To add, your nation's political decisions also affect my whole country. Since we are your allies we support you and NATO in places such as Afghanistan and Libya to name a few, heck we almost got dragged into Iraq.

Obama isn't a military expert, if he was -- he wouldn't need all of the military advisers he has. If I don't know jack about something, and experts are brought in -- you bet I'm going to listen to them. They also probably tell him whatever the defense contractors like Raytheon want (a lot of those advisers go on to civilian consulting jobs later with those same companies).

Anyone recall the story about the North Dakota cops who used the drone to arrest the man who would not return his neighbor's cattle? On Dec 13, 2011, a certain farmer refused to return cattle that had wandered onto his land from a neighbor's pasture. According to state law (apparently), when cattle end up on one's property without being fed (or something to this effect) they become the owner of the property's merchandise. When the family refused to return the cattle, the local PD sent in drones to stake out the area. Wonder how many other times someone's "livestock" has been scouted out by drones?

It doesn't matter if he was military trained or not, he is still the Commander in Chief. The ultimate responsibility lies with him. The military gives him options, he chooses which of those options he likes, or none of them and tells them to bring him more options. You're giving the military too much credit. They do what they do on the direction of the President.

So what was Bush? Both of them served in the military, both of them were militarily trained.

I think Americans like drones as these need minimum footprint in the area of operations.
There is strong continuity in policies of the US government under Bush and Obama. We cannot see much difference.

The problem with drones as with any military action is the correctness of intelligence. Innocent people die when such intelligence is defective.

Not only do these strikes kill but they also cause major damage, whether physical, mental, emotional, property, or all of the above. We're aware these strikes also kill innocent civilians, sometimes intentional, sometimes not. Drone strikes have increased greatly from Bush to Obama & the kill count is alway on the rise.

Once a strike has occurred the US doesn't have eyes & ears on the ground to what if they actually got their target but also no report of damage caused is sent either so all the innocents who are killed, maimed, & property destroyed receives no compensation at all.

Drones are coming to a country near you!

The same can be said about manned strikes as well. The problem with both is the intelligence, not the system dropping the weapon.

Speaking of which, the data for times for refueling manned flights are published (though of questionable reliability.)

Yet the data for drones is still unavailable, why is that? It can quickly be ascertained by maximum observed range and the overall size of the drone based on scale from the common factory material shown in the background.

This can be used to find weight and pressure exerted on the airfield, as well as the structures used in construction.

Assuming you bother doing any of that, you could easily find out what size the fuel tank is and what it is made out of (hopefully not some exotic material. I digress,)

Heck, you could even compare the imagery of the exhaust system with a database using blahblahblah and find out the characteristics of the engine itself/range/speed/etc if it is in high orbit.

But rand is being slow about publishing such things. Any reason why? I mean, identification of flying objects is a big part of the bluejackets manual from WW2, which means it is even more standard now.

We all talk about UFO's, but never about how you can identify them. Is there a specific reason for the lack of techniques involved? Or is it just OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGMAAAATH!!!!! .

Back in the day, I used to think drones were great.

I'd draw little doodles on paper depicting them.

Since then, I've visualized what evolves in order to counteract drones, and the long term implications to transit of goods and items of interest.

They actually kinda suck merely based on the response cycle based on using them, both in terms of overt warfare and political movements.

*EDIT* and I'm not talking about shielding and EMPs.

You may want to reevaluate your thought process, because you are a bit off.

By the time we get to the end of your post, you are still making the excuse that Obama holds no responsibility in drone strikes because he has no military expertise and relies on what he is told by his own experts.
