I was just posting a couple of these in another thread, and got to thinking that on a gathering of this scale (ATS) there has to be at least a few of us on here, right?

Post-rock music uses rock instrumentation but disregards typical “rock” song structure. Mostly instrumental, a typical track features quiet arpeggios around simple chord progressions that swell into rousing crescendos. Fans liken the style to the avant-garde with soundscapes similar to that of “classical” music.

I'll start with a broad range of classics and for those unfamiliar with the genre - I hope you like guitars, pedals and cello's!

Feel free to add your favourite tracks, live shows, full albums and anything new that crops up while we're at it.

Mogwai - Mogwai Fear Satan (Live)

Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Dead Flag Blues

Mogwai - Friend Of The Night

The Evpatoria Report - Tajin Kyofusho

Mono - Ashes In The Snow (Live)

Tortoise - TNT

Good man. Thanks for those, I was going to post some EITS on the OP but I couldn't decide on an introductory song they have so many good tracks.

Another couple of bands with the seal of quality.

Halves - May Your Enemies Never Find Happiness

God Is An Astronaut - All Is Violent, All Is Bright

Kwoon - Great Escape

Just realised I said good 'Man', you might be a Woman, if so I apologise.

I have a EITS station on Pandora, I just recently started getting into them.
I' m going to check out the other bands you posted later when I have some time.

I'm not sure if Pinback is considered post-rock. I just really like them.

I'm a Man so no worries.
