I thought I would open a little thread to take the piss out of our old friend GW.... it's been a while since I had a good laugh at him and to be frank, I miss it...

So, here are a few of my favourites..... please add your own "Bushisms"....

“Most imports are from outside of the country”

“The thing that's wrong with the French is that they don't have a word for entrepreneur”

“There's an old saying in Tennessee - I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee...that says, fool me once, shame on...shame on you. Fool me...you can't get fooled again.”

“Rarely is the question asked: is our children learning?”

Enjoy....

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful, and so are we. They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people, and neither do we." --Washington, D.C., Aug. 5, 2004

'Now watch this drive'

After imploring nations to fight the terrorists, he non-chalantly says it. Unbelieveable.

MAKE THE PIE HIGHER
by George W. Bush

I think we all agree, the past is over.
This is still a dangerous world.
It's a world of madmen and uncertainty
and potential mential losses.

Rarely is the question asked
Is our children learning?
Will the highways of the Internet become more few?
How many hands have I shaked?

They misunderestimate me.
I am a pitbull on the pantleg of opportunity.
I know that the human being and the fish can coexist.
Families is where our nation finds hope, where our wings take dream.

Put food on your family!
Knock down the tollbooth!
Vulcanize society!
Make the pie higher! Make the pie higher!

sadly Oo

As much as I love all those Bush-isms, nothing he said can compare with the master of quotes: Muhammed Saeed al-Sahaf.

Baghdad Bob...how we miss thee...although I suspect we'll see his like again if anything happens with North Korea, as they are fond of using his quotes...

Some gems:

"My feelings - as usual - we will slaughter them all"

"I triple guarantee you, there are no American soldiers in Baghdad."

"We will kill them all........most of them."

"We will welcome them with bullets and shoes." (shoes come up a lot in his speeches)....

Those are some good ones.

Myself, I always had a fondness for his comment that "God will roast their stomachs in Hell..." That one has stuck in my mind as the definitive B.B. quote.

He supposedly still insists that everything he said during those days was factual. It's just the interpretation of his words, according to him, that might have been a little off.

2000:

"This is Preservation Month. I appreciate preservation. It's what you do when you run for president. You've got to preserve."

"This crusade, this war on terrorism is going to take a while."

Here's some more gems.

"I couldn't imagine somebody like Osama bin Laden understanding the joy of Hanukkah." --at a White House menorah lighting ceremony, Washington, D.C., Dec. 10, 2001

Well duh...

"The same folks that are bombing innocent people in Iraq were the ones who attacked us in America on September the 11th." --Washington, D.C., July 12, 2007

Is he saying the US military is responisible for 911?

"This is an impressive crowd -- the haves and the have mores. Some people call you the elite -- I call you my base." --at the 2000 Al Smith dinner

Imagine that...

"Can we win? I don't think you can win it." --after being asked whether the war on terror was winnable, "Today" show interview, Aug. 30, 2004

Yah! That's the spirit!

And now the coup d'gras.

"I'll be long gone before some smart person ever figures out what happened inside this Oval Office." --Washington, D.C., May 12, 2008

Fail.

My favorite:

"Strategury"

Yeah, I know technically it was Will Farrell, but it's still the best! Sounds like something old Dubya would say. We say it a lot in our house
A well placed "strategury" comment never gets old to me.
