The Combined Forces Command in Seoul raised its "Watchcon 3" status, a normal defence condition, by one level in order to step up monitoring and increase the number of intelligence staff, a senior military official told the Yonhap news agency in the South on Wednesday.
"There are clear signs that the North could simultaneously fire off Musudan, Scud and Nodong missiles," Yonhap quoted an unidentified official as saying.
South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se told a parliamentary hearing in Seoul that he was working through diplomatic channels in an attempt to rein in Pyongyang.
"Through close coordination with China and Russia, the Korean government has been continuing to make efforts to persuade North Korea to change its attitude," Yun said.
China is North Korea's sole major ally, although it backed recent United Nations resolutions against Pyongyang, and Moscow was a supporter of North Korea as the Soviet Union.

Don't get too worried. Remember the London Olympic Games and all the missile batteries on the top of buildings.
Nothing happened!
Besides, these are in the wrong place. They should be surrounding Fukashima with them.
Also remember 9/11. The most protected city in the world, Washington DC, well it got hit! All those anti missile missiles were no help at all.
Don't worry, be happy.
P
Fukashima would be the most effective target to do damage to the whole world.

I have to agree with you here after thinking about it and fuku's effects in the jet stream, but with defences on high alert and nk's archaic missile technology, and fuku being right on the coast, i'de give it less than a 1% strike success.edit on 9-4-2013 by all2human because: (no reason given)

I think it is hilarious people think they are going to target Fukushima.
That is a great way for their entire country to get destroyed...it would be a sign that they are saying "F the world, we aren't even attempting military targets".
Plus...Fukushima is quite a stupid target to waste your one missle launch on...I really don't think it is the doomsday scenario that many here think it is.

And that is fine, I'm not doubting NK may launch as some desperate last ditch effort. However, Seoul is a large city (target) with millions of people that is within somewhat short range launch that will be harder to shoot down...trying to hit a small reactor in an evacuated area with a medium range launch which will be easier to shoot down.
I don't think anyone doubts that IF NK attempts a launch against any target that it is a one time shot...and then they will be hit hard and most of their other rockets and launch capabilities will be taken out.
So I think it is just conspiracy theorist fantasy that they will target Fukushima.

You and Kim would make the perfect team. Incompetent and unreasonable.
