The deputy chief of staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Masood Jazayeri announced that Iran will stand by North Korea and defend it in a war between the United States and North Korea.

“The nation and government of North Korea has always been subject to threat, despotism, and imperialism by the U.S, therefore they consider it their right to boost their own defensive power in order to inhibit their enemy,” said Jazayeri. “The time is long past that the United States can bully other countries.”

Their best chance is to have US forces being attacked in Asian, Persian Gulf and Afgahnistan all at once. Hard for all that equipment to intercept everything all at once.

If this happens, every NATO country will get dragged in and boom. World War III.

Of course Iran stands with NK. That much did not even need to be publicly said.

Are they wrong , the Iranians, that we Bully other Countries?

My greatest fear is that we , the Commonfolk of the US, will wake up one morning to Learn, Austin is no longer, or Norfolk, or Washington.

If Iran actually came out and said this, and it's not some propaganda, then it looks like things could take a turn for the worst.

The U.S. can handle N. Korea easily enough, but if Iran joins, then the U.S. could be in some bother.

Imagine, the U.S. forces in the Persian Gulf getting blasted by Iran, while NK start dropping payloads all over Asia, or North America.

North Korea can't currently drop much on North America. To reach that far they have to have a very small payload, and their accuracy would be horrible. Our forces in Asia on the other hand would have to be on heightened alert for a missile strike, but that's why the Aegis BMD ships are there (ours and Japans), and why the SBX was moved out along with THAAD.

We already blinked by not doing the scheduled missile launch so we wont do any thing till they do then...
tactical nukes nice and small with big heat will land on all targets in the middle east and NK in about 30 seconds.
The airborne launch will be allowed time to show trajectory and lasered to ashes.
But I hope all sides will chill out and I can carry on.

What exactly would Iran do? A war in Korea will not draw off enough of the US Navy to close the straights. The US forces already in the Gulf will not be going to Korea. The IDF will not be going to Korea. The militays of the Gulf states will not be going to Korea. In all what Iran could do for Korea is far less than they have managed to do for Syria. Thier are certain military realities and one of them is all Iran would do is make itself a target.

The CER of a missile, really doesn't matter when there is a 7 kiloton nuclear warhead strapped to it. Any inconsistencies in accuracy, is made up for in the 1.4 mile blast radius.

Iran, however, has much more accurate missiles which could be quite devastating in a shoot out, especially if they fire first, without warning.

I'm not saying the U.S. will lose, but it will be a pyhrric victory.

Plus, NK has a total of 9 million troops ready to strike South Korea. Even with the superior U.S./NATO tech, that is one protracted land war.

Except that everything I've heard, both publicly, and not so publicly, is that North Korea hasn't even come close to miniaturizing a warhead enough to put it on a missile, if they even have one. Their tests have showed evidence of being fizzles, or partial explosions, not full up nuclear blasts.

Individually, they may not due much, but Iran is the 12th strongest military on the planet. If they had the first strike, they could do quite a lot of damage to the surrounding area, taking a toll on U.S. regional forces.

N. Korea have nuclear warheads, which could land missiles on U.S. regional bases at the least. Sure, each country isn't a match for the U.S. one on one, but the two of them going at the U.S. at the same time, could do some serious damage, and cause an even greater economic whiplash to pound Europe/N. America.

Sticks and stones may break your bones, but a 7 kiloton nuke has a pretty big whollop.

If that was the case, then the U.S. wouldn't be quite so up in arms over their 'tests' or 'threats'.

I remember hearing somewhere that the CIA reckoned NK had 10-30 nuclear warheads? I'm probably wrong, though.

The CIA said a number of things that were later retracted.

But they're up in arms over the tests, because each one brings them that much closer to a full up nuclear warhead, which could then be sold to a less than friendly group, or eventually miniaturized and put on a warhead and dropped on a US base, or ally.

As for the threats, a partial blast, in the heart of Seoul is still going to do a lot of damage. You're still talking the equivalent of several tons of explosives. So even if they don't get a full up blast, they still level Seoul essentially.

I find that very hard to believe.

That Iran would stand with/physically support/back/ or aid North Korea is just...not in Iran's best interest (IMO)..

They're smarter than that.

And if they said that, well, there's something else going on.

Iran joining N. K. is just another future opportunity for BP to expands in the Middle East.

NK and Iran have 2 choices :

1.- Surrender to capitalism "american way", with Mc Donalds, gay marriage and all the decadence we can offer.

2.- Push "that button" without launching, blow the house and meet the 72 virgins.

OK.. so instead of just going up against a horde of malnourished and deluded north koreans with hilariously outdated equipment the us will have to contend with a country that it has surrounded with more than 50 military bases and amassed more than 300 000 troops near its boarders.

Someone posted in another thread that the NATO has plans to attack Iran if NK acts out. Interesting that NK aggression on one side of the world means war with another nation altogether. Then again, this has happened before. I suspect that when this happens, soon, we'll see weapons we have never see before. Up until now wars have been fought with better versions of the same weaponry, and yet, we know the US at least has built other weapons in the black ops. Look for epic destruction of some country when this happens. Don't be surprised when a NK missile is allowed to hit a US base or worse in order to justify the event.
