Meanwhile we are sitting here bickering over the scraps that others are getting instead of us.

Not what I had in mind when I learned that this was the "Land of the free". Free to wage class war? Race war? Either way you look at it, the OP is a bait. (Not the person posting it, but the article contained in the opening post).

"Part of that problem goes with having work that no one wants to do."

"I am so sick and tired of this BS argument."

Wow, you must have taken that personally. It really got your Goat.

I will have you know that you are full of yourself.

Firstly I NEVER mentioned you by name. You just assumed I directed it towards you.

Secondly I was actually talking about the likes of the 'ENTITLEMENT' Crowd. The 47 Million Americans on Food Stamps. The 11 million people that filed a disability claim within the last year. Almost 50% of those have back pain which is something that can't be proven either way. The 1 Out Of Every 2 People that didn't file a TAX Return last year. The 18-26 Year Old Group that is too good to work and would cry like a damn school yard sissy if they broke a nail.

If you are in that group then I could see how you might have your junk in a bunch.

I will also bet you never turned a 1 acre Truck Patch with nothing more than a shovel. I have been there and done that so I can relate to work. However, I learned at a very young age that if you were well educated, you could have a job that pays very well without allot of physical labor. Ya know, the work smarter not harder kind of job.

And finally, it is Not a BS argument. Have you talked to today’s society, To the future pillars of OUR communities? .No one wants to work, They ALL want to start at the TOP of the ladder. They ALL want to start at TOP pay. They want to call in sick and keep just enough points to maintain their job. They have NO appreciation or Desire to work towards ANYTHING.

Companies are not wanting to pay for someone who doesn't want to be at work. Someone who calls in 2-3 times a month. Someone who is otherwise unreliable. THEY ARE MOTIVATED to hire someone who LOVES to be at work because they know that the money they make is going to be sent to their family in Mexico where they will live like kings. Have you ever wanted to live like a king?

The whole picture is Much Bigger than just you.. I mean out of 150 Million Americans that are capable of working, you are nothing more than a very tiny spec of dust next to something the size of an Aircraft Carrier.

Yeah, the people of the US are lazy.

They are also the hardest working people on the planet

The young people I know are nothing like you describe.

Maybe you should have done a better job of raising your kids.

It is not about raising the kids I Don't have. You must be young and have taken that personally too. Are you in ANY of those groups I mentioned? With your statement I would suspect that you are.

In any event. I have NOT seen a punk kid do a hard 'Honest' days work in YEARS. They are Typically good at Avoiding work.

Hmm...

...i stayed late at work tonight. My 15 year old son was working. Since I have work to do, and didn't want to get back out at 10pm to get him (the latest the law allows his age to work), I just stayed in the office.

I see my son do honest, hard work to the tune of about 20 hours a week. It isn't my idea, either. Its his.

You should get out more. It might improve your opinion of your neighbors (and their children).

I do in fact get out more. I also employ about 40 people. I have seen quite well how today's younger workforce operates. Or, should I say how they Don't operate.

So your son works. That’s good for him. But he is ONLY one. You now have 149,999,999 more people to vouch for to convince me otherwise.

It is INSANE of 2 mil illegals getting their refunds & us picking up the tap! IRS is to be blame for this grand scale fiasco!
I also live in a border town & can surely identify with arguments over illegals taking our jobs. I've friends that lost their jobs to construction, electricians jobs, office, landscaping, etc. I had my share of experience working for a banking institution. They had people from Mexico working as tellars, receptionist an other small misc.responsibilities.
No one is to blame, other then executives with their hiring practices.
One more thing to add to all this, one DPS station was giving out (for a fee ofcourse)identification cards. Some with their id card were caught working at our local Wal-mart.
I often wonder if irs employees are getting a cut on all thiiiiiss !

So a random Mexican who doesn't speak English agreed to take the chance of having his identity discovered just as a favor to the local news station?

Are you looking for a response from me? Or do you just want to let me know that I am full of myself?

Im glad that you know me so well to point that out to me.

I will now go ask jesus to forgive me.

...Just so you know- I wasnt responding to you..... I was responding to that ridiculous Mantra about us lazy Americans not wanting to work.

...let me ask you something.... Who was doing all the grunt work before all the illegals stormed in?
We were.

Only we werent raping ourselves. The Govt was in charge of that.

Now they rape us and rob us to pay them.

I take rape and robbery very personally. Maybe you should too, unless of course you like it.

If it doesn't even matter how much money the IRS just gives away ? As this seems to be the obvious case and the most likely reasons it doesn't matter, must be because they can,(1) just print more anyway. And (2) because money really isn't worth anything in the first place. So I don't think bank robbers who get caught, are get'n a fair deal on their sentencing either.

I employ about 90 people. Using tried and true behavioral interviewing techniques, it seems as though I am having better luck attracting and retaining talent.

By the way, I was the one who made the comment that Americans are too Damn Lazy to work.

"...let me ask you something.... Who was doing all the grunt work before all the illegals stormed in?
We were."

Actually, .. They didn't storm in. They slowly trickled in over a period of about 30 years.
And, I will have to agree, . You are correct that WE did the work before they got here.
BUT, times have changed. Before that people weren't afraid to roll up their sleeves and get to work.
Unfortunately that generation is retiring.

Do you have ANY idea how many entry level jobs are available? Literally Millions. However, those jobs are all about Fast Food, Janitorial Services, Ditch Cleaners, to include just about any undesirable job you can think of. AND that's where the Problem is. No One wants to do back breaking labor for minimum wage, or flip burgers for chump change. These are ALL jobs that need to be done and SOMEONE has to do them.

I for one am really tired of getting bent by the Tax Man. And I don't agree that pulling money out of my pocket to ensure that an illegal immigrant gets a nice refund is the best way to spend my Tax Dollars.

I also do not agree that we should make it easier for illegal immigrants to become citizens. I think we are just side stepping the issue so we can avoid dealing with it.

After all, what do you think we did 200-400 years ago or so .. . ? We came in here like WE owned the place and took it away from the Native Americans wreaking Havoc and killing just about EVERY 'Indian' we could find. In the end we were nice enough to allot those that were left a nice little piece of land.

Until WE are man enough to grow a pair and take OUR country back from OUR Government, we will just have to tolerate what the government does to US. Especially flooding our country will Illegal Immigrants.

P.S. .. . we may very well be in danger of becoming the 'Indians'.

"I employ about 90 people"

Good for you.

My turnover rate is about 3-4 employees a year. Which is pretty damn good compared to the National Average. So recruiting and retention is Not a problem for me.

As for your "90" people. Statistically speaking you ALSO have a turnover rate. Weather you care to admit to it or not. I don't care how "tried and true" your tactics are. You are dealing with human nature. That is just how it is.

Turnover varies by industry. 3-4/year is pretty solid in any industry, however.
