Your memory's good.
"Somebody" was the B-side.

My first record purchase wasn't a single, but an album: Tubular Bells by Mike Oldfield, back in 1973.

30 years later, my adult daughter in Australia emailed me to ask if I could send her a CD of Tubular Bells 2003, because she'd heard of it but it hadn't yet been released where she lived. Naturally I went out and bought it and sent it off the same day, so she was one of the first in Oz to get her hands on a genuine (non-pirated) copy.

I have to admit I love singing along with movies like Grease. I cannot help it. It's silly and uplifting.

I can't remember my wedding anniversary for the life of me.
But music just seems to stick.
It's the cause of much hilarity in the Cody household

If you want to go that route, drove the old mom completely nuts with this one in the high school years!

First album I ever owned. Alice in Chains' Dirt on CD. CDs were also relatively new, so I was pretty excited as a kid.

Great album, great decade (the 90s) musically.

That song, to this day, along with "Cheap Trick: I Want You To Want Me" still makes the words "THIS IS A FAST SKATE" ring in my head.

And you know what? They still play it at the skating rink here! I took the kids skating every week until they were grown, and then took my niece until she got "too cool" last year. The grandkid is next! (And yes, I still skate but I can't skate as fast backwards as I used to!)

Wedding anniversary? What's dat? Just a minute, I'll ask my wife...

But it's true. Some songs just stay with us forever. There are still songs I can't listen to without pulling out the tissues. Others that always make me smile.

And yeah, some that drove my parents nuts. (No apostrophe, cos it's a plural!
[Sorry about that!
] ) Like this one:

Now this was a good album in it's time. The problem for my Mom was this album lasted about 6 non stop years for her. My sister bought it first about 1978 . She listened to it everyday till she moved out in 1980. I missed it shortly after sis left and picked it up played it till i left another 4 years.

I still have it and love it scratches and all. Mom compares it to Muszac.

If I was feeling evil when I was younger I would play this for awhile.

God that's awlful.

My mom HATED this song... me and dad liked it though.

BOTH my parents were freaked out over this... I got a "talking to" concerning it.

My cousin and I even had a dance for this one... which horrified the parents and grandparents.

But the one that got me in trouble... home from school... cranked in my car with a bumpersticker that said " If its too loud youre too (expletive) old"....

Today, Im old.. and I have the money for a superior sound system in my Amanti... compensating for my hearing loss... now my children gripe and moan at me.. pretty much like my parents. Now I play this...
