First of all my apologies for starting this thread without having the pictures up, I know this will frustrate many members. Please be patient, I need some help to do it, I am a bit of a caveman with computers.
I want to list as many points here now and will try add a link at the end to the pics at photobucket.

- Photos were taken on 14th March 2013 at approx 8:30 - 9 pm.

the photo data will say 30th Dec 2012, I imagine this is due to faulty internal camera battery.

- Taken with a Finepix 8mp camera, old and cheap but I had it on night setting and the two important shots were taken using a tripod.

- There are 4 shots 1. hand held on night mode= lights everywhere, nothing clear but added to maybe assist in time / distance travelled etc, may add something.
2. The best shot, object seems stationary.
3. Other credible shot, seems to be moving away. 24 seconds after number2
4. 34 seconds after 3. nothing obvious however when playing with exposure/contrast
there seems to be a faint lightsource. Like number 1 I have added it in case it helps.

- Facing West just after dusk. There is an airbase ( NZ style ) 10-15 km from my position in that direction.
Whenuapai.

- I did not see the object , although I was aware of a "very bright star" in the camera screen when taking shot 2.

- There was a report in mainstream about lights and objects around the country in the days after. will try find.

- You will not hear me screaming OMG in the photos for credibility authentication.

Now that I have got some details down any assistance in getting the unaltered images up would be most appreciated. I may be a bit slow. once up I will follow along and answer any questions I can.

The help button is your friend

support.photobucket.com...

I do not believe there is a 500K limit unless you have made a mistake. That is tiny for a photograph.

Thanks for your reply.

When trying to upload to ATS it only allows me max 500.

I also guess its pointless adding photobucket link as one needs to logon?

I have the pictures loaded onto photobucket , it is ATS that is limiting to 500kb, I think that is for avatars. I know I'm doing something wrong.

If they are on Photobucket you don't need to put them on ATS. It just means you will have a link to the photo and not a picture embeded in the thread, which is OK...

When viewing the picture in Photobucket there should be a "link" or similar (I don't use it) or something saying "Link to this picture" etc. Copy that and paste it into your thread here.

If there is no "link to this photo" text, just copy and paste the whole URL (The addressw http...etc" into the thread, that should work.

If you want to have the picture embedded in your thread you have to reduce it's size using a picture editor. I am sure someone here will do that for you if you post the links.

tools/ats uploads/select image file

Locate the file on your PC, upload to ATS. Click on image, copy link from "Use in a post."

imgur = better than photobucket, no need to log in and you can send a direct image to your link - unassociated with your account.

Get that pic up so we can see!

ATS limits the file size and hides EXIF info, so best to use photobucket

If its an aircraft contrail like this...

...then it would be DHL flight HJ1, Boeing 757-236, from Auckland to Sydney.
