I hope Ruddy gets back in.
When the Fukushima incident happened Rudd was the only one to bother asking the awkward questions like what danger this poses to us, and what danger this poses to other countries!!! Gillard defended JAPAN...instead of backing her foreign minister. Yes, politics are ugly.
I want the person we voted for in power. And if we don't like him I want to vote in someone who we do like.

Rudd has called a conference at 4.15 pm, in about 5 mins from time of me writing.
Wonder if he will announce his own resignation in light of everyone else who has (so far)???

Rudd's failure to contest the leadership ballot, after all the efforts of his henchmen to bring it about and their big talk about the numbers in caucus, made him look ridiculous. It is impossible to imagine any future bring-back-Rudd speculation being taken seriously. Or, for that matter, many MPs sticking their necks out for him. He has no political future, even in opposition.
His next step should be to announce that he will not contest his seat of Griffith in the September 14 poll.In fact, senior ALP figures are likely to suggest that to him, possibly within days.
A Rudd decision to quit politics would neutralise Tony Abbott's claim of a continuing Labor civil war. But another argument might appeal to him more. He says he wants to play a role in preventing Abbott and the Coalition cruising into government. As a retiring MP, he would be able to campaign widely for Labor in the run-up to the election without looking like a threat to Gillard.

only way for Labor to survive is to split the party in two.
yes, it will be 3 or 4 terms of liberal power until they ever have any chance at getting back in but there is clearly 2 sides of the Labor team.
One side wants to ditch the unionised past and move forward without nunion influence and a lean to the right like what Rudd and Crean want, and there is the reckless unionised "hang onto the past" group of left leaning socialists like Gillard and her crew who lean heavily against the greens to maintain power.
I wouldnt be surprised if after the next election when Labor is decimated to the extent it has never been before historically that the party will split.

Tony Abbott cannot separate his religion from his politics.
He is known to be the biggest liar and breaker of promises in the business
Julia Gillard is without doubt the worst Prime Minister of the worst Labour Government that Australia has ever seen

Wrong, that would be Juliar and the labor party.... carbon tax, grocery watch, fuel watch, cash for clunkers etc etc - all lies by labor.

No, that would have been Whitlam.
