Yeah maybe we do need to cut back on violence, but i don't understand why so many act like we are the lone violent nation in the world. I think the whole human race needs to back off on the violence a bit. Besides that i think most governments are more violent than the people. This is all just my humble opinion of course.

I moved to America four years ago from Britain and I feel more safe here than I ever did in Britain.
Britain has very high levels of violence, I have witnessed and been on the receiving end of much violence there.

wow....good thing that we are not living in a dictatorship of the mayority/aka dictatorship of the proletariat like people like you would obviously love to have...

You should do some research into what "individual rights" are, start off with a great document called The United States Constitution, it migth enlighten you...

We are not living, and shouldn't live in a society where ANY mayority should decide how everyone else should live their lives, and not allow people to have individual freedoms... That's the sort of "democracy" that existed in Iraq when Saddam Hussein was in power, and is the same kind of "democracy" in which the "mayority" in Iraq not only took away the rights of minorities, but harrassed them, and even murdered minorites such as the Kurds.

Leftwingers keep forgetting their history, and how every time they have FORCED their views on nations and people genocide ensued...

But some claim ignorance is bliss right?

How high and mighty of you to think that you must be "ahead of the game" because of your dislike of weapons and willingness to FORCE your views on others... I wonder who has tried that before?... Oh yeah, from King George on the American colonists, to every nutjob dictator that has existed...

The same belief of "the colonists are barbarians and savages" is still believed to this day by leftwingers, and any others who want to FORCE their views and opinions on other people...

*Sarcasm on* "But, but, we only want what's best for all of us and for you, you can't think for yourself so we want to FORCE you to accept our views and opinions"...

Maybe you should get down from that pedestal and learn the meaning of humility.

So, you still believe assault rifles are needed for the ordinary Civilian to survive?

Some of these guys live in the City or Towns where Assault rifles aren't needed... are you going to allow those people to still have assault rifles?

We have the 2nd Amendment.

All Americans should have the FREEDOM to walk into a gun store and buy one of these

Colt rifles. This one shoots 308 caliber ammo.

We don't need some hoity toity progressive in Washington D.C. telling us that we

can have this rifle over here but not that one over there.

To put it another way: Stop sticking your nose in our gun cabinets!

I never knew that civil liberties were adjustable based on geography.

"I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people, except for a few public officials."
— George Mason, in Debates in Virginia Convention on Ratification of the Constitution, Elliot, Vol. 3, June 16, 1788

The intent was that EVERYONE was part of the militia.

It's been defined and well known since the constitution was written that the militia is the people themselves. The supreme court has upheld that as well, so I have no idea where you pulled that tidbit of misinformation from.

from a hat

anyways guns are dumb,

do people buy them now to show off?

what is the use?

do you hunt?

are you ever going to shoot another Human with one?

what is the point?

lol

so dumb, honestly...

then when you figure out that we are ALL GOD and Brothers and Sisters...

guns get dumb real fast...

LOL

That is not logical. Guns are simply a tool and the good or evil produced by them are the result of the human weilding them. Consider the guns used and the killing done that stopped Nazi genocide. Would you have prefered that the death camps went on and on and not stopped because guns were used to stop them?

Militias were every citizen, farmer, baker or blacksmith that could stand.
The National Guard is NOT our militias, as some people try to claim.
We are our militia.

I've noticed, being a Californian and living abroad previously, that many Californians who attain positions of power/authority think it is ok to legislate their morality and ideas over others. If they don't like something then they try to legislate it away using some bogus argument/pretext.

When I lived in Colorado and the Californians were invading the countryside, they came in and took over areas and enforced their political will to propose and pass several ordinances. In essence, they tried to make Colorado into California.

Feinstein strikes me as one of these types.

uscode.house.gov...

Please, educate yourself as to who is defined as being the militia.

Also, any actual research into the words used at that time, within the context of the dictionary of that time period, shows that Anti-Gun people really have it wrong.

The 2nd Amendment doesn't state the People must show a "need" for any firearm.

So, come on.... tell me why you need that assault rifle?

I admit that it may look great but it has no use other than to kill or maim.... is this what you plan to do?

Do you need to post on ATS?
Do you need to have a car?

It has nothing to do with need.
It is a guaranteed right. Nothing more is necessary for justification.
