This thread won't be long because if people on this site are intelligent and well educated as they present themselves it won't take a rocket scientist to figure this one out.

I already know about keeping a wrap on things as to not disturb the mentally weak into riots. Another reason why this will be brief.

The 2nd amendment was written so that the American people could arm themselves and protect themselves from tyrant governments and other acts of evil.

As the American people who are free to arm themselves have not fulfilled there right to protect themselves from such evils.

Why then should Americans reserve the right for guns?

You have all already let the government tell you time and time again what they will do when they will do it and basically said to your face whose gonna stop us.

Again if they remove your right to own guns a can of beer some cancer sticks and a little bit of depending on age tv, video games, internet will calm you down.

Make sure you have those items ready in your SHTF bag.

Not trying to start a revolution just telling those who say they fight tooth and nail to fight for American freedoms that your full of hot air and it's been proven 10 fold through the last decade.

Jim Morrison once said out loud at a concert "Your all a bunch of slaves"

As long as you have the right and freedom to speak out against the gov. You'll never take up arms against it.

Thank you for the buffers, don't know what I would have done with out them. I'm an unintelligent, level-headed individual.

So, every time the government steps out of line, individuals should use the guns they have against said government?

You're not trying to start a revolution.... Trust me, you're not going to be the catalyst hahahahaha.

Also, dissent can be running rampant... and people will take up arms against their government. Losing ones voice, freedom of speech and so forth would result in some taking up arms. But that doesn't mean that those even with the freedom of speech won't do the same.

Pretty much, everything you said was wrong.

I think Jim Morrison was talking to an audience chalked full of liberals.

But yeah the resistance will use whatever methods it can provided by the constitution until time runs out. The need to be organized calls for those types of precautions.

Was this thread mentally or emotionally damaging?

Because I think you just realized what is put in place to keep us complacent while everything around us goes to sh**!

And why it really doesn't matter if they take our guns because were not going to do anything anyway. If we was we would of started along time ago.

I understand but what are you getting at?

Are we supposed to go out and just fight each other? Because that will be the only result if we were to jump the gun (no pun intended) prematurely.

People, people, people.

Here let me give you a taste...

Why does revolution have to include blood shed when we are the government, police, military?

Aren't they family members, friends, fellow americans?

Everybody knows everybody through everybody they know.

I gave you a star for this quote

As long as you have the right and freedom to speak out against the gov. You'll never take up arms against it.

You gave me a perspective to think about that I never previously had, I very much appreciate that. If I understand you right you are saying that when those rights are removed that’s what could lead to revolution or civil war? I do notice that is one of the least most attacked of all our rights. The government actually seems to hold that one dear to its heart, as to why they are such a good government.

Is that quote your own? Either way I will have to ponder on it. Thank you.

I understand where you are coming from goou111, but to say his opinion doesn't matter should be rethought. I'm not saying his opinion should or shouldn't matter, but he not being an American gives us a different perspective, that potentially can matter.

He is an outsider, you ever notice when you’re in an argument or a fight and your emotions run deep, it is a completely different perspective than watching two other individuals in an argument or a fight, most of the time it’s almost humorous. I know I have even thought to myself, why are they taking this to heart so strongly, or this is way too dramatic or foolish. I have noticed for me personally I am in far better control, state of mind, and wellbeing when I move through life as an observer, instead of being so emotionally invested in the moment.

Also he may have access to information, news, or media we don’t have access too. His opinion may not matter to you and I don't judge you for that, and understand why. But for me personally, as an American, and a Veteran, with access to primarily American points of views, I consider his opinion very valuable. Heck this is my primary reasons for frequenting ATS so much, literally for different perspectives.

Please don’t take my reply the wrong way, I wasn’t intending any offence, I just didn’t want the poster to be discouraged and him be prevented from posting future threads, since this one gave me insight I didn’t previously have.

Ah see, you contradict yourself here.

Why does revolution have to include blood shed when we are the government, police, military?

en.wikipedia.org...

A revolution (from the Latin revolutio, "a turn around") is a fundamental change in power or organizational structures that takes place in a relatively short period of time. Aristotle described two types of political revolution:
Complete change from one constitution to another
Modification of an existing constitution.[1]

You see, it is not revolutionary to protect the rights that we already have. Most Americans don't want a revolution wether they realize it or not, they just want their constitutional rights to be respected.

But yes, it will more likely end in bloodshed as those revolutionaries who have sought to take those rights away from us, have prepared war against us. We have every right to defend ourselves. As someone famously quoted, "the beauty of the second amendment is that it wont be needed until they try to take it away."

That definition of revolution you posted mentions nothing of bloodshed. A revolution should occur, and it can be approached in a peaceful manner. Americans should protest for elected federal officials to step aside. We are way beyond 20 years of a needed revolution.

If the bloodshed from that were to occur, it would likely start from the federal governments resistance to side with 'We The People.' If that were to become the reality, then it speaks volumes as to why people don't want to think of adding laws to aid tyranny.

I don't believe for one second that people want to keep their guns so they get a chance to use them. The security measures of guns are more of a safety net.

Thomas Jefferson 3rd President (1801-1809)

Periodic revolution, “at least once every 20 years,” was “a medicine necessary for the sound health of government.”

The belief people will make a big enough bang over the removal of guns is naive.

As long as you can sip mountain dew and or beer smoke a cigg and watch tv when you get off work you won't care.

i think this is the reason why there has been a rise in sales in firearms since we feel that they'll leave 'freedom' of speech till last, once they've disarmed us COMPLETELY or at least the majority then they'll take the constitution and burn it in front of the people as a way of showing us that they've won.
*though they've done this countless times as it is already*

you've the liberals, socialist, commies for this state we're in. Those who've supported the government w/out question.

I think it's just a reason to keep people talking about guns to increase the market so that people keep jobs. People buy guns people make money.

See the revolution has already started. We are fighting back while we stood still. This is _our_ country.

Mike Grouchy

Here I go
Here I go
Feel better now
Feel better now
Here I go
Here I go
It's better now
Feel better now

Do you remember when we fell under
Did you expect me to reason with thunder
I still remember when time was frozen
What seemed forever was just a moment
Hurry up, hurry up
There's no more waiting
We're still worth saving

Feel the light
Shining in the dark of night
Remember what we forgot
I know it's a long shot
But we're bringing it all back
We're bringing it all back
Feel the light
Shining like the stars tonight
Remember what we forgot
I know it's a long shot
But we're bringing it all back
We're bringing it all back

Here I go
Here I go
Feel better now
Feel better now
Here I go
Here I go
it's better now , Feel better now !

I Sill Remember when things were Broken
But put together , the cracks were closing
Hurry up, hurry up
There's no more waiting
We're still worth saving

Feel the light
Shining in the dark of night
Remember what we forgot
I know it's a long shot
But we're bringing it all back
We're bringing it all back
Feel the light
Shining like the stars tonight
Remember what we forgot
I know it's a long shot
But we're bringing it all back
We're bringing it all back

You and I can have it all Tonight
So let's bring it back to Life
Now we have another Chance To Fly
Another Chance to Make You Right !

Feel the light
Shining in the dark of night
Remember what we forgot
I know it's a long shot
Feel the light
Shining like the stars tonight
Remember what we forgot
I know it's a long shot
But we're bringing it all back
We're bringing it all back

Here we go !
Here we go !
Feel better now , Feel better now
Here we go !
Here we go !
it's better now , Feel Better Now .

The Second Amendment say nothing about fighting off a tyranical goverment. It says

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

The writers of the Constitution did not even consider armed rebellion a possiblity because they were creating a new type of Goverment that was the people. So people would not be rising up against themselves. Self defense and state miltias in an era when protection by law enforement and a standing army were non existant were the main motivation of second.

You want people to go out and actually fight the government? Tell me how that would work out, it simply isn't possible without an awakened populace. See how fast those would be revolutionaries would be attacked by the establishment and tarred and feathered by the public as domestic terrorists.

The political dissidents decrying massive corruption isn't the problem, the problem is an ignorant, indoctrinated and apathetic public. The only real conceivable catalyst for sweeping change right now would be some kind of drastic collapse, something extreme enough to force the masses from their comfort and their entertainment; their "Brave New World", the bread and circuses of Rome taken to a modern extreme. They are suffering from normalcy bias, they won't acknowledge looming disaster until it hits them.

The situation is locked, but it seems like cracks are starting to appear in the foundations.
