You could read the lyrics but I would invite you to listen to the song instead.

No one laughs at God in a hospital
No one laughs at God in a war
No one’s laughing at God
When they’re starving or freezing or so very poor
No one laughs at God
When the doctor calls after some routine tests
No one’s laughing at God
When it’s gotten real late
And their kid’s not back from the party yet
No one laughs at God
When their airplane start to uncontrollably shake
No one’s laughing at God
When they see the one they love, hand in hand with someone else
And they hope that they’re mistaken
No one laughs at God
When the cops knock on their door
And they say we got some bad news, sir
No one’s laughing at God
When there’s a famine or fire or flood

But God can be funny
At a cocktail party when listening to a good God-themed joke,
Or when the crazies say
He hates us
And they get so red in the head you think they’re ‘bout to choke

God can be funny,
When told he’ll give you money if you just pray the right way
And when presented like a genie who does magic like Houdini
Or grants wishes like Jiminy Cricket and Santa Claus
God can be so hilarious Ha ha Ha ha

No one laughs at God in a hospital
No one laughs at God in a war
No one’s laughing at God
When they’ve lost all they’ve got
And they don’t know what for
No one laughs at God on the day they realize
That the last sight they’ll ever see is a pair of hateful eyes
No one’s laughing at God when they’re saying their goodbyes

No one’s laughing at God
No one’s laughing at God
No one’s laughing at God

We’re all laughing with God

Do you see yourself in this song? I certainly do.

God is an idea.

not funny, or serious and to be taken as neither.

Honestly I can say a few of those instances I laugh at God simply because I know I'm being tested and yes God does have quite the sense of humor.

I have laughed at god, nature, the universe or whatever you prefer in two wars.

Did I win something?

No I never laughed at god... Though I have:

Shaken my hand and in a Homer Simpson voice pointed to the sky and said "God.... Whyyyyyy I~ outta!"

And the opposite:

Shaken my hand and in a Homer Simpson voice pointed at the ground saying "I'm watching you!"

But no never laughed directly at god.

How was that answer? ^_^

Do you ever laugh at God?

He's not a very funny character. The few times I laugh at him, it's like laughing at that Smoking Gun show. It's so ridiculous, you have to laugh to keep from trying to slap the television out of exasperation. The rest of the time is just...well, this:

By the way, that chick's singing makes Justin Bieber look talented.

I gave up.... if you want to see a funny video about a conversation something along these lines youtube "two guys mocking god and something terrible happens"....and if you could embed that would be awesome....

edit on 14-3-2013 by LemaEcho because: Right now God is actively testing me go figure....lol

I think you linked that video incorrectly. It says the video does not exist.

I've laughed with God on many an occasion...

Usually happens at a moment of realization or clarity...

I feel many times he saying "see... I am here"...

Even brings me to tears of joy sometimes...

This video would be PERFECT for all those threads that keep appearing on ATS like clockwork...

"Is God the head of the Captain Coward club?" for example.

Wonder if they'll listen?

I make it a general rule not to make fun of things that can blink me out of existence.

Its my cautious nature.

No WONDER you have that "God Complex" mood going on...

Just kidding BTW.

I'm sure God laughs at me when I fail some small test in a funny way.

It's only fair that I get to do the same from time to time.

I laugh at him, with him, for him, and through him, as he does me.

God is very real. It's an "idea" that has taken on a life of its own.
Even if "God" isn't real, the idea of Him is, and that's what is important.
The idea that someone is watching the good feeds that only we see,
Is at least a way to feel good about doing good, even when it superficially harms you to do so.
God loves sacrifice.
Love itself demands it.
But I'm sure an all knowing all powerful being (or idea) can take a joke.

Perhaps why does one have to laugh at God, really?? What is the point???

Perhaps you can try, but it doesn't prove anything other than just someone who has little to no understanding of the complexity of what he may be laughing about...

Peace

Do I ever laugh at God? Not AT ever, WITH all of the time; a big joke-- "how do we keep OURSELF hidden for so long and continue to get away with it"? The Psychic senses you are not yet ready for the answer, the Tea Leaves appear to form a demon: what you want is not what you need.

If god tells you a joke, it is advisable to laugh at it. Just be sure it is really supposed to be a joke.

You beat me to it once more VHB...

...that, 'separation' trompe l'oeil, loaded pack, card trick again...

...if I can't laugh at/with myself, I could take everything far too seriously, harmonically solidify the thought form to make it separate (and all of you included)...construct a complicated card trick to fool myself every time...but, been there...doing it yesterday...

...just parts of myself I need to experientially convince/REALise...the managerial staff that started the ball rolling for us, offered the dote, and the antidote...Louie, of course is paying for - the 'step too far' manouvre...I bet he/she, is wondering whether it was worth entering 'Dancing with the STARS'...or not?!

Too easy to fool oneself into taking any of this too seriously; I catch myself all of the time. Do not solidify a random and bring it into your reality by mistake. Always trying to outsmart my own cardtricks, even though I planned it all, the dealt hands and subsequent bluffs. Those parts of yourself will conjeal, I expect they are conferencing (you might miss lunch). Someone managerial needs to be fired they threw gutter balls at us; not sure which one. Dancing with stars can involve potencial injury.
