I'm sure this has been suggested before...but...

We need an "OP" designation on posts, I think it would be very helpful.

For example, when the Original Poster of the Thread makes a post, their post would be proceeded by a

Your avatar serves as that notice.

So long as people actually read your OP. Then again, if they didn't, why bother replying at all

I think this is a very good idea. Most threads, its not an issue, but sometimes when a thread gets dozens of pages long it would make it a lot easier to follow to have this designation.

I don't have any problems identifying the OP. If you're too lazy to follow that track, you probably shouldn't be posting in that thread.

The more frustrating thing in longer threads is that there is usually one or to gems of a post that tie up the whole thread in a dandy package... that get completely overlooked by the majority of posters. A lot of people read the OP only and then reply or read the most recent 3 posts and then reply. If there were a way to highlight those needle-in-a-haystack posts that would be cool. Of course, that would be a subjective indicator, much like stars and flags.

A good Idea ..especially for people with no avatar or those who change theirs regularly .

you can always goto the dropdown menu under avatar that says member and click on posts in thread link, and see all the posts by op.its saves alot of time.

I think the poster is after being able to go into a thread and recognise which of many posters is the OP.
Perhaps whatever coding produces the OP's own "posts in thread" could do that job at the same time.

Good idea. Although naysayers like Zarniwoop have valid points, user friendly environments tend to enhance experience.

naysayers like Zarniwoop...

I wish I had the ability to star posts in this forum so I could hover over your post and not star it with all of my might. You wouldn't see it, but you'd feel it.

that might be the reply of the year. Or, at least the quarter.

Indeed, i felt it regardless. You naysayer!

You can also scroll under the member tab on the OP's avatar to "posts in thread". Clicking it will pull up all the posts in the thread made by the OP. You can use this with any post as well to see all posts by any one poster.

I agree that this is a good idea.

Would be a nice little feature to add. Although i suspect making it to fancy might have a negative effect.

Your guess is as good as mine. The guy is from the cover of a Kansas album.

We'll go with crawdad or similar crustacean
