I'm putting this here because I could not find a better spot. Mods, move if needed.

This is a short video of Police searching the surrounding area of Sandy Hook during the incident and it appears that the officers/bystanders are speaking a foreign language.

Can anyone help identify the language?

Sounds almost French to me.

I speak neither French nor Japanese however.

Well its Japanese and its the camera operator speaking it, not the officers.

Nothing unusual about that if there was a Japanese news crew around.

Was there any valid reason for a Japanese news crew to even be there?

I do not know. We have news crews in Japan so I would assume they have them here also. Maybe they were driving around and heard it on the police scanner.

It's clearly an east asian language. Japanese fits. I'm amazed if people are getting so desperate they have to look at what foreign teams are saying at the scene.
