At least 26 people died after a truck carrying fireworks exploded when travelling on a high rise bridge in China's central Henan province on Friday morning, reported Chinese state media.


The explosion happened around 9 am on Yichang Bridge, located between Luoyang and Sanmenxia in Henan Province, said China National Radi

I bet they don’t try to ban fireworks because of it.

Wonder what kind of idiots made that Bridge.

I guess we can start banning bridges....poor sob's.

Why do you think they don’t let trucks carrying any explosives transverse major bridges , or into major cities, in the US?

Because we have already learned the lesion that S@#$ can happen. And you want to limit the damage that it will cause if it does happen. So best keep them off, and away from anything valuable that they can destroy if they do go off.

It was bound to happen sometime. China has been making fireworks for hundreds of years. I'm surprised this isn't a more common occurrence.

Fireworks are explosives that are colored by placing different types of metals in with gun powder. So, yes, they can cause a lot of damage if one is not careful! Pyrotechnics know how to make it so that they don't do any damage, and that's why it's important to only let professionals handle fireworks.
