I tried to get this out last week but some force here did not seem to think that you good people here needed to see this. So we'll just have to give it another shot.

The people are speaking out. We want our country back! The Declaration of Independence Has been slightly revamped and nicely so. Give it a looksy.

" If there's a new way, I'll be the first in line. But it better work this time" - Krokus.

Good idea. Bad forum. This will get nowhere with a whitehouse.gov petition. Even if it gets the 25,000 sigs the white house can always say , No. last time this was needed it took a team of people using deadly force to make these changes happen. If we are ready to do that and have a plan to follow through then I'm all for it. It also needs a solid plan to fix things once the Government is overthrown and the support of the People behind that. Trouble is getting Americans to agree to this is harder than pulling teeth from a gorilla on a rampage.

Nobody said freedom was going to be easy. Just for laughs and giggles, try searching the topic.

I fully support the change! The beautiful thing about this is that people are starting to come together. In a way this is a form of revolution, a form that has never existed before in our history. People can gather online with a unified voice. I do believe that this will get swept under the rug tho. The powers that be dont want this exposed. Why do you think it is so hard to find this on your own? Their website is not very user friendly for a reason!

Let us Unite for Peace, Freedom, And prosperity!

I think it's a great idea but is sorely lacking substance.

A good step towards unifying people against corruption? Maybe, however, where's the meat?

There should be at least some specifics.

It is true the dark ones do not like where this spotlight hits. May I suggest that you search Re-declaration 2012 and see what you can find.

The problem I see is that 22,000 signatures would be a complete joke. That is less than 10% of my cities population alone. Maybe if there were 1million times than number the White house would even take a look at it.

I think the biggest problem is that TPTB are standing on this one pretty hard. Just days ago I posted something about this on this website and it was 404ed and I was threatened with account closure. I think TPTB are really scared of this and it's potential to rally the people. Just do a little searching on it (Re-declaration 2012)!

Not a well thought out idea...

If all the people declare independence from DC, where will they get all of their food, military to defend themselves, power, goods, everything.

Our entire lives are based on this government, and more the corporations that control it.

A person who writes a petition like this is going the wrong route...if you're against federalization and corporatism, start or join a self sufficient community and do as much as you can to promote that lifestyle.

Overthrowing the government would really accomplish nothing. All of the capital is still concentrated in the hands of a few thousand super wealthy families. Unless you're calling for a complete communist/socialist revolution, it doesn't really make sense.

You don't get it apparently. The idea is to take our country back and adjudicate the ones who took and held it from us.

Yeah and who exactly is that? You gonna kick out everyone who's served in the federal government? What about state governments, they don't say anything about the problems. How about they guys who run Exxon, Apple, Google, Goldman, JP Morgan, Bank of America, Wal-Mart? All of them gone or prosecuted?

How far down the chain are we going? And how will we have any economic infrastructure left that resembles a modern society? Are we willing to accept a million deaths in the revolution, and another 50 million from starvation in the restructuring that follows?

Maybe you are right. Perhaps we should all just lay down and die. Our Forefathers did fought for and won and started a great nation. Throw a wrench into that one.

And here we go, the bickering shall commence!

I guess talking about how to actually reclaim independence irl is 404 type discussion now isn't it?

Anything that requires physical action without using a computer is 404.

Gasp! Well, that would seem to be the case..sounds real ugly but is there any other way? I'm not saying there isn't, we should consider..

I didn't say we should lay down and die....

Are those our only two options? Either overthrow the gov. or dig a grave and jump in it? No, they are not.

We could each as individuals go out and be politically active within the system, lead by promoting and living with high ethics, and work on improving America gradually. The key is awareness of the problem... as long is as power abuse is relegated to the internet fringe the problem will continue. We need leaders on the ground, educating communities. Well defined initiatives that use the leverage of mass support to enact change within our system.

There are less than 25K sigs on the petition for a reason. It makes no sense...we declare independence! Then what?

We actually have a political system where things get done when there is popular support. With people who are aware of issues constantly calling for such extreme and unreasonable actions, this popular support will never comes.

Change is a negotiation...gradual progress, compromise, and small concessions should be expected more than any instant overhaul.

And you evaded my question....exactly how many people would be rounded up? Who would qualify as someone who took the government from the people?

Some slight problems with that petition.... The US government is NOT illegal, and BAR does NOT stand for British Accreditation Regency!

So basically you want the officials the people elected tossed out, and to set up your own little dictatorship....

Any attempt at a violent revolution is a good way to get a lot of people needlessly killed and find ourselves in a complete and overt police state under military law...

We'd lose way more rights than we'd gain with that kind of thing.

Forgive me, but I'm going to be a little more cynical and nasty than usual. Who says that the American people want independence from Washington? The majority voted for Obama, after all. Half don't pay income tax and the large majority receive government checks in some form.

Why should they separate? For "freedom?" A writer in a recent column said something like "The problem with America isn't with Obama's policies, or even with Obama himself. The real problem is that a majority of the citizens voted for him."

How often do you hear "freedom" held up as a goal? Not from the present administration. And violent revolution? The old saying "Yeah? You and what army?" applies. Who's going to fight? No one from the left. And since people are accusing the Republicans of being the party of the old, they're not going to fight.

I think I may have said too much, But this is a serious topic that should have been discussed long before this.
