See, that chassis looks right, but the turret from the pic Slayer posted looks closest to what I saw.

If it's uncovered it ain't secret. No conspiracy or anything here.

No one said there was... Any Conspiracy here... Posted in the Weaponry Forum...

I'm only wondering why the identified pic goes un-named.. It's not something I'm familiar with, and would like to know.. Is it a future Abrams? Kind of has an unmanned look to it.. I think that's just the straight lines making my mind go "robot" I don't think it's actually unmanned.

I simply want to know what I saw. No conspiracies, no secrets, just wondering.

Here's another version of the tank posted by Slayer:

There are numerous other versions as well. All are the AMX-30 (there are plenty of images on the Wikipedia page). It was designed to be compact and maneuverable, and, as the Wikipedia article says,

Recently, the AMX-30 has also been used as a testbed for several stealth technologies, including air cooling of hull surfaces and the use of visual camouflage.

The image posted by Slayer is a stealth demonstrator.

None of them are quite right. The first thing that popped into my head when I saw the back and the turret was "Abrams", that quick. That's how much it looked like one. But when seen from the side the turret shape was wrong (it didn't go back like the Abrams does), and it literally had NOTHING on the turret but the main gun. No laser sights, no machine gun, no antennas, nothing.

19D? I was a 19E and around 1989 OPFOR started switching over to Cav Scouts. Heck, Knox is no longer the Armor Training Center, what a shame.

As for the Sheridan, it was a great ride, maybe it was a little "maintenance intensive" but it moved like the wind. I don't think anyone could mistake a Sheridan for an M1 or any modern tank.

Nice to meet a fellow Fort Knox Veteran.

It was a slightly darker shade of brown than those are. It was more brown than tan.

I love the comment that they were heading to the auto auction.

Can someone post a pic of Devastator from the Tranformers movie? If the pic Slayer posted of the Triple X tank is close, Devastator will be close too. But again those were both modified movie props.

there was a program initiated a little bit ago to develop a new tank. Although this was cancelled, it could possibly still be floating around somewhere. That could be it
