From Chapter 10, "In the Shadow of Egyptian Megamachines":

. . . Academic historians may argue that modern engineers are overly influenced by their machines, thus all the Egyptians’ works are interpreted through the prism of modern technology and there is little respect for the abilities and talents of the ancient Egyptians who, they believe, made do with simple tools. For their part, engineers argue that the ancient Egyptian toolbox accepted by scholars has no tools in it that are capable of producing what is found in Egypt, and that to advance our understanding of that time in prehistory, we must assign sensible and workable tools and methods that can physically demonstrate the capability to create such work.

Engineers are better qualified than academics to theorize on how the pyramids were built. That is common sense.

Then he should have no difficult obtaining the agreement of tens of thousand of engineers...has he?

Most archaeologists work in teams - so did Dunn consult Egyptologists, material experts and those who know AE art? If so name them

The best qualified people to understand the subject are those who have some clue as to the culture they are working with - you do know there are specialist engineers in Egypt - their specialization is the maintenance of ancient ruins and sites - so what do they say?

Also from Chapter 10, "In the Shadow of Egyptian Megamachines":

. . . this lone block at Abu Roash was very different. As it turns out, it was different in a highly significant way. . . .

. . . As I made my way down to the base of the pyramid, I was anxious to examine more closely what appeared from the top to be a finely finished surface on a block of granite—yet this block was unique beyond being the sole finished piece on the site. . . .

. . . The surface was actually concave. It was totally unexpected to find a machined concave surface on a block of granite. . . .

There is nobody on Earth that would fit that description.

I read some of the book (what's available as a preview) and it's even more of a conjecture than I had thought.

If Dunn finds a very flat surface manufactured by the Egyptians, he'd be sure to remark how perfect and flat it is. If the surface is not straight, he'd say "oh look, they mastered CURVED surfaces". No matter what he observes, he can (and will) interpret as something remarkable. The surface is smooth? "Jesus, no way this could be done without advanced machinery. Totally polished". But if... The surface is a little rough and has notches? "You see, these are the signs of giant diamond-tipped blades! See the grooves?".

Gosh what a clown. No matter what he sees, he will interpret through his prism of preconceived notions. A typical woo-woo.

Sorry:

I must say, it's refreshing to think you've been at ATS this long and still didn't know the utter depths of stupidity that exist out there. Hate that I ruined it.

You actually did. The well of stupidity is far deeper than I thought.

Well, I have professional registration as a mechanical engineer myself, though now expired. Why don't you just ask me?

Oh gracious it's bottomless

I'm often tempted to send to some posters here the following diagram. Dreams and fantasy have no ability to influence the real world

From Chapter 7 "The Shadows of Denderah":

. . . Our destination was one of the most enigmatic sites in all of Egypt: the Temple of Hathor at Denderah. . . .

. . . the engineering that allows Denderah to exist has key characteristics that are seldom discussed and that have not risen to the level of notice enjoyed by the pyramids in the north.

. . . The walls, ceiling, and columns are put together with such exactness that we can only sit back in awe of such an incredible accomplishment. . . .

Well I had a nice long reply but since Java loves to screw up my tabs when I have ATS chat or FB open it went nuts and I lost it.

So this will be an abridged version lol

The Pyramid Code which is in 4 parts is pretty interesting, you might enjoy it if you liked "Revelation of the Pyramids." ROTP is my favorite documentary on the pyramids. They mention and show so many things that i have never seen on any other show on the pyramids. While watching that show I went "wow" so many times. I even made my roommate watch it at the time. lol He enjoyed it as well.

You can click the link and get the 3 other videos. If you have Netflix it's also streaming on there.

I tend to think we don't give our ancestors enough credit. Just because they didn't have machines like we do doesn't mean they didn't have their own tech that helped them. It could be tech that has been lost, forgotten or kept secret. Who knows. Technology doesn't have to mean what it means today. They knew something and had some skill that helped them build their structures.

As for the Great Pyramid, don't even get me started on what I think it was...most call it nuts but Christopher Dunn wrote a book on it. It's about the GP being an energy source. I find that one to be an interesting theory and one i know many dismiss without even looking into it. It's weird for me cause I use to have dreams about the pyramids in Egypt when I was younger and they gave off light. The entire area around them had light but not like we do. Only when I got older and read this theory did I think about those dreams again. It was weird because why would a kid dream of that?!?! My fiancee is one who dismissed this theory. We use to get in huge arguments over it lol til I sent him my book on it. He read it and changed his tune. He still thinks it's a bit nuts but he doesn't discount it now after reading information on it. I was surprised because I never thought he'd give it a thought!

I also don't discount the theory that the pyramids of Giza and Sphinx are older than what we think.

I find all megalithic sites and structures to be very interesting. They really took pride in their architecture back then. I wish we still did. Today it's not the same. You don't see stonework like that anymore. I mean these structures have lasted thousands of years. I don't think there is anything from today that will last that long.

Sorry if this is random, my last reply was much better and took me a while to do but after losing it I didn't have the energy to re-do it.

S&F because this a topic I really enjoy. I do spend al ot of time reading about the ancient tech as many call it.

From Chapter 6 "The Shadow of the Sphinx":

. . . No other place in the world is blessed with such architecture and such exactness of manufacture. Even today, the precision that is found on the casing stones on the Great Pyramid is not required for construction of, for instance, a modern skyscraper. . . .

Except for the Athenians who we are pretty sure didn't have any diamond drills floating around, lol

You're talking about his book The Giza Power Plant - Technologies of Ancient Egypt, published in 1998. He talked about it on Red Ice Radio. From Red Ice's YouTube channel:

Uploaded by RedIceRadio on Jun 16, 2011

Christopher Dunn, originally from England was recruited by an aerospace manufacturing company from the United States. Over the past 49 years, Chris has worked at every level of high-tech manufacturing from machinist, toolmaker, programmer and operator of high-power industrial lasers, Project Engineer and Laser Operations Manager. Chris's pyramid odyssey began in 1977 after he read Peter Tompkins' book Secrets of the Great Pyramid. After further research and study of source material on various theories, Chris concluded that the Great Pyramid must have originally been built to provide a highly technical society with energy-in short, it was a very large machine. Discovering the purpose of this machine and documenting his case has taken the better part of twenty years of research and following the 1998 publication of Chris's book, "The Giza Power Plant: Technologies of Ancient Egypt" which describes a holistic energy device that is harmonically coupled with the Earth and its inhabitants. Chris has published over a dozen magazine articles, two books and has had his research referenced in over a dozen books on Egypt. In this interview, Christopher Dunn will discuss the Great Pyramids' machine like features and will share his analytical and practical engineering perspective. He will also give us his opinion about Zahi Hawass' recent expeditions on TV and tell us what he hopes for next.

Yup that would be it. Looking at it on my bookshelf now.

I'm gonna go thru it again with a highlighter lol
I recently ordered a couple other books on ancient technology. I should be getting them this week!

Here is the video I was looking for, it's one of the parts of the Pyramid Code.

High Level Technology

Here's some photos for you

The east field limestone quarry at Giza - note how the blocks were BASHED out and not cut - yeah high tech

A question you believe they had high tech but didn't use it in war? Why?

Not did they use it for luxuries, medicine or in any other measurable way - just - in your mind- cutting rocks?

Now the unfinished obelisk

Why did they bash this out instead of using high tech?

Why do the 200 known AE quarries show quarry practices equal to what is known of AE technology and not high tech?

Why does the AE art show their low tech/high craftsmanship reality instead of high tech?

Why did they drag around rocks instead of using 'high technology'?

These guys quarried a stone without high tech - how could they do it?

You guys should get a time machine and go back and tell these guys they cannot do anything unless they have high tech

Why could the ancient Greeks produce some of the greatest art using marble - without high tech?

Why absolutely no evidence of high tech in any field of endeavour? Except some yahoos making stuff up based on their personal incredulity?

One wants to know, lol

This is an excellent video. Thanks so much for posting it!

I didn't realize that the Tesla Tower on Long Island was built on an aquifer:

It is interesting what was said about the role of water - zig-zagging water - and sunlight, in the production of energy:

The video points out that we have polluting explosion energy when we could have clean implosion energy.
