So during the Election we all heard of the cries about losing God in the country and so on from major so called personalities like a Baldwin for crying out loud! Well all those lossing God comments spurred me on as for a some time now I have wanted to do a write up on the Hypocrisy that is the FOXNews website and it’s blatant non-moral pandering to it's blind sheep followers!

Every time I get to hear some overzealous, ultra religious person spouting off their morals and how the Mainstream media except for FOXNews is promoting the wrong values or no values! I want laugh my head off at how they cannot see what is right in front of them...

Here is todays bottom front page of the FOXNews site ( but not much different then everyday if you ever notice even..) And Don't give me some excuse like I don't read the Entertainment this is the FRONT PAGE!

Now when you compare FOXNews Entertainment (On the left lol maybe I should put it on the right to make it right?) to that of another Site on the same day what conclusion do you draw? Who is really throwing your morals to the dogs? If it is not obvious what FOX promotes perhaps you should stop turning a blind eye and...
WAKE UP!

I have tracked the stories on FOX and it is most certainly fair and balanced at showing titillating, stimulating images consistently more than any other site! HYPOCRITES!

This is who promotes with it's FOX'n Friends Family values! And is who the FOX Flock Follows!

Here are the real Morals that you love about FOXNews!

The Religious Right talks about temptation, immorality, sexual depravity and so many other sins and yet this is promoted daily by their most viewed web site! While you are at it look up cognitive dissonance as it is practiced by all the major priests of so called RIGHT’s clergy! Before you go sticking your fingers in others eyes look at the log in yours and in what you put into your sight with this sticky, caught you... website!

Then...think about this... what else they are conditioning you with? What other values are they warping?

This is nothing new I have seen this for years and now that you aware do me a favor and stay aware!
Notice what FOX does, notice the scantily clad women, innuendos and outright sex and think does it match the beliefs you have or is it shaping your beliefs to their agenda?

I frankly could care less about what they show but don't claim to me they don't have an agenda that is at odds with their so called religious viewership! Or that it is the rest of the mainstream media who is warping American Values!

And if you choose to endorse this tripe do not preach to me about your so called higher moral ground of News reporting from a site that is wrapped silky satin HYPE and HYPOCRISY!

Please forgive my ignorance, but I never knew FOX had a religious viewpoint. They seem to be covering stories that their audience wants and which will get them visits, or viewers. Isn't that what they're supposed to do?

If they initiated a policy that said they would never post such pictures, would not people call "Censorship," and "As bad as the Taliban?"

FOX is a source of news, not my spiritual guide.

I forgive you...www.foxnews.com...

And please make a note of the media section of this article
en.wikipedia.org...

So if you are Christian you are saying those ideals and images support your views so you support them?

Ok...let me get this straight.

You don't think that conservative christians support sexy time?

They watch the superbowl don't they? They let their kids attend concerts liek Lady Gaga, The Disney Troop ( you know which ones I mean) and allow them to see hollywood movies.

The entire culture is sexualized and religious folk have NO problem with that. To say they do anymore in the 21st century is clearly nonsense.

Religious folks care about abortion and homosexuality when it comes to sex, everything else is fair game.

Fox is a conservative NEWS outlet, not a conservative VALUES outlet. They've never claimed any differently either.

The fact is that religious folk are far more likely to enjoy sexualized content from such a source, because then they don't have to justify it with their religion. They don't see it as sexualization, they see it as entertainment.

So yeah, Fox isn't a religious based place, never claimed to be, never was, never will be. They will ALWAYS pander to their core audience and their advertisers who want to sell you things. And mainly those advertisers use sex.

I am however asking a general question toward any Christians who do follow FOXNews and if this is in conflict with those beliefs. So are you Christian and does this conflict with your teachings, scriptures of beliefs? As I have heard this from Christians and I want to know.

Dear abeverage,

Thanks for your patience. I went through your sources (even though one of them featured a picture of Donald Trump), but I think I drew a different conclusion from yours.

The Donald Trump piece seemed to me to be an opinion article urging Christians to be tough and strong, and not let themselves be taken advantage of. Christ had a "meek and mild" side, but was also pretty nifty at flogging the money changers profaning the temple.

The Wiki piece seemed to be talking about the Religious Right. I got the impression that they were calling FOX a news source for that movement, rather than a religious news source.

You're right that suggestive photos may be a temptation to some, just as Scotch commercials, or Casino commercials might be. This is the world we live in, I don't support sin, but I know tempation exists. That might be why we were encouraged to be "As wise as serpents, as innocent as doves."

If I were to be upset with a news site, it might be one which makes it's reputation based on anger, hatred, and insults. Those are out there, as you know.

Perhaps I don't think of FOX in religious terms because I don't believe it has a large religious effect on me. I try for different news sources, but sometimes FOX has stories not seen elsewhere.

I hope I've answered your questions. If not, I'd be happy to try again.

With respect,
Charles1952

Foxnews like CNN, MSNBC or any other news site or agency are only concerned with one thing. That would be money, and if they can get ya to click a link with cleavage, hate or anything else for that matter they will. The days of real news are all but gone.

So again I am asking isn't that at odds with what Christians believe? To promote lust and please tell me that the images I posted do not promote it...

"You have heard that it was said, 'YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY'; but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye makes you stumble, tear it out and throw it from you; for it is better for you to lose one of the parts of your body, than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. (Matthew 5:27-29)

So when a Christian views and supports this website are they therefore promoting FOXNews to keep and endorse this form of entertainment?

I gave an example that I have rarely seen as much pandering as I have on FOX it is an observation I am extremely curious to find out if this is Hypocrisy or a change in Christian values.

Actually I posted an image from another "News" source and that is actually how I noticed this disparity. That site rarely shows women in lingerie or naked but strategically posed. I realize the days of real news is gone.

I am just curious if this is something that most Christians I talk to watch FOXNews so I wondered if they are aware of this and choose to ignore it or if it conflicts with their values.

I know that ATS has a pretty good Christian viewership as well and I wanted to know if this is what I term Hypocrisy.

Thanks for your comment!

This is a silly thread.

Christian men watch football and the cheerleaders in their skimpy outfits.
Christian men can appreciate a woman in a Victorias Secret ad.
Why not??
If women on FOX suddenly were head to toe covered, you would say
that they were ultra religious or something and complain about it .. right?

Side note ... I've noticed that Fox News has a lot of women on as anchors etc etc who are blonde and have short dresses. Guess that keeps with the general theme ...

A silly thread? I suppose the daughters of America should be used to promote websites, concerts, and food (Carl's Jr) as these just like Football cheerleaders are good wholesome values that Christian appreciate and encourage!

Do you have a daughter?

Do you believe she should be objectified and when she does a research paper from a News source should see women being objectified nearly naked in lingerer? Not in an artistic sense but only to be viewed for sales of an object, concert or fast food...

I see your point this is silly, who cares how Americans view their daughters, wives, sisters and women...

I understand why People like it... An Religion is news! When our Presidents quote biblical scriptures it's news! When we take up causes like Abortion or Gay Rights those are based on religious views and thus religious News!

what I want to know is does what the promote affect or sway the morals of the majority of the Christians viewers. Or is it not a Hypocrisy and not at odds with fundamental Christian ideals.

Dear abeverage,

Perhaps the other posters may have answered better than I can. If I dissatisifed you once or twice already, I'm surprised you're coming back to this same old shop. But since you have, let me try again.

Where would you have us go? Which site provides thorough news without some objectionable content? Even ATS occasionally has ads as bad or worse than what you've pointed out. Some of the network programs advertised on their news programs are far worse than what Fox is displaying on theirs.

You're right, lust is a sin. Amazingly enough, some people can see those things and not lust, at least not in a Biblical way. Overcoming tempation is a daily task for the Christian, and loving God more than a photo is one way of overcoming.

But you are critical of FOX. Why? Are they breaking a promise to anyone? Are they doing something you believe no network should ever do? The government has set standards for what is acceptable, so has FOX. They keep within their guidelines.

I don't follow your logic in saying that whenever someone views FOX they are endorsing Victoria's Secret. If FOX having Victoria's Secret ads are bad, surely Victoria's Secret itself, is worse. Are you asking us to shut them down? No, because they don't claim to be Christian. Neither does FOX.

It just hit me. You seem to be saying that because FOX is concerned about morals it should have extra restrictions put on them. More restrictions than those networks that don't claim to have any morals at all. Have I figured that out? MSNBC can be slime because they've never claimed to be anything but slime?

Is that the root of our misunderstanding?

I don't understand the issue of religion at all when it comes to government.

I love Jesus, and I try to make myself a better person and do for others more than I do for myself, but I don't want any Christian fundamentalist anywhere in government. Why would you?

I'm secure enough in my beliefs to not want them forced on anyone. Isn't that what this country is founded upon? The belief that we are all entitled to whatever belief system we choose? The US was never intended to be a religious nation or a theocracy or anything like that.

We all have to come to terms with religion. It's a great for personal reasons and growth and such, but it creates nothing but problems the moment you begin to govern according to its doctrines. Wars are fought and fanatics come out to play when religion is involved.

Removing religion from government does not make a nation godless either. It just doesn't have to dictate what legislators do. One can have a wonderful relationship with their god and still govern secularly. The fact that we are a leading nation in terms of personal freedom means we should not drag the Bible through the mud in an attempt to politicize ideals or solutions. It's disturbing.

Dear spinalremain,

Good to see you again, been a while. Just saw a story you might like. It's an AP story, reposted on FOXDC, about the enforcement of a policy in Egypt.

In 2009 under Mubarak, an administrative court in Cairo ruled in favor of a suit filed by an Islamist lawyer who argued that pornographic websites were destructive to Egyptian social values. The court ruled at the time that "freedoms of expression and public rights should be restricted by maintaining the fundamentals of religion, morality and patriotism," denouncing the websites in graphic terms.

www.myfoxdc.com...
This rule has been generally not enforced, but the story indicates that Egypt's prosecutor has now ordered it to be enforced throughout Egypt.

Charles,

With all due respect why do Christians choose to boycott establishments because they do not promote Christian values?

Originally posted by charles1952I don't follow your logic in saying that whenever someone views FOX they are endorsing Victoria's Secret. YES...YES I AM!

If you believe in what you say you do you! Christians do it all the time...
Christians Boycott other companies other then chick-fil-a
And yet support ones who claim they do...
Christian support of compaines with Christian Values

And you know very well with the images I have posted this is a very slipper slope that FOX is enjoying walking on instead of ignoring it or not posting the photos at all.

What would I have you do? Stand up argue with people come back to the same old shop

I would have you write to FOX and say hey what exactly are promoting here? I would try to open some eyes to what I believe is a hypocrisy so people who are more and more asleep might awaken to the truth. The same articles show up on multiple sites but the images do not...

I would ask them do these images promote Family values, are these images kid friendly? I would have you post a thread on a site you enjoy, asking Christians do they believe that FOX news is worth their time and viewing or does it conflict with what Jesus said to them? And I would tell other Christians not support them until they changed!

And that Charles...is what I am doing! What are you doing?

Not once did I say FOX has a religious agenda, nor did I claim they are a Values outlet... No on the contrary I said they had an agenda with the large base of their viewership!

All MSM have an agenda and they are all for a specific demographic. Fox for conservatives, CNN for centrists and MSNBC for the left.

Now of course that's not as cut and dry as I put it, but either way, the agenda is that of the advertisers. They pay the bills you know. Fox and all those other outlets would cease to exist without advertising revenue.

And thank you for helping me make my point to whom the is pandering is to, the same ones who blindly follow sports, lady Gaga and Disney LOL!

That's not a liberal/conservative split however. The ammount of people on both sides who are drawn to that kind of entertainment transcends religious or moral values in most cases.

Think about it for a moment. Do you like action movies? Then that conflicts with your peacefull religious beliefs.

Do you like a certain celebrity? That goes against your religious beliefs.

See how easy it is to be outside of what you believe when it comes to entertainment?

I am however asking a general question toward any Christians who do follow FOXNews and if this is in conflict with those beliefs. So are you Christian and does this conflict with your teachings, scriptures of beliefs? As I have heard this from Christians and I want to know

I am not a Christian. However it's to be said once again that media outlets transcend those barriers. Any and all of these outlets operate outside the norm of religious and moral values for most people. If only more people understood the doublethink and blatant propaganda being served to them, these places would cease to exist.

But in the end, it comes to down revenue and entertainment. These people make all their money via advertising, therefore advertisers make the rules. What's considered good entertainment at the moment is directly associated with how much advertising goes along with the product.

You have some great points Tenth. But what I was trying to argue was if this is Hypocrisy being supported by Christians not unlike companies that are boycotted because of their views on Gays and gay rights.

FOX for all I care can show nude dancers on bears as they are free to do so, what I was looking for was healthy debate on what Christians pick and choose to align themselves with.
