White House press secretary, "Obama Has Not Participated in the Investigation' of Benghazi"

Oh my, now this is major news! The White House press secretary mind you, said that Obama has not participated in the investigation! Plus the WH press secretary also said that Obama doesn't care either! Hey he has an election to worry about, remember? And this is after all his promises that he was investigating it fully! Which, by the way, were some of the only words he spoke of Benghazi. And now this isn't even true. This is bigger than big!

WH: Obama 'Has Not Participated' in Benghazi Investigation

Today, the White House press secretary let it slip during a press gaggle aboard Air Force One that President Obama’s inaction on the Benghazi situation now extends to inaction on the supposed investigation taking place. The administration has still not made clear what exactly is being investigated, or the extent of the investigation. And President Obama doesn’t much care. Said Carney:

White House press secretary Jay Carney told reporters aboard Air Force One today that President Obama "has not participated in the investigation" of the terror attack against Americans in Benghazi, Libya.

“He has not participated in the investigation," Carney told the press in response to a question about whether Obama was participating. "He is anticipating results that show us exactly what happened and how is responsible and what lessons we can learn from it and ensure it never happens again. He expects the investigation to be rigorous."

Except for FOX and the fringe media (us) you won't see any investigation until after the election.

And even then, it'll be swept under a rug.

If Obama is being accused of any wrong doings as it relates to Benghazi; and he has been accused by the GOP leadership, then it is in the best interest of himself and the country to allow an investigation to go on without his interjections.

Besides, what's Obama suppose to do, put a lab coat on and go study the forensic evidence? Go interview witnesses and obtain sworn statements?

If anyone knows what happened, it would be Obama. And he isn't telling squat. I suppose this means he is literally, "taking the fifth" since he could incriminate himself?

If there were indeed no blood on his hands one would think that it would stand to reason he would ensure a thorough and concise investigation began taking place the moment shtf....correct? Obama supporters really need to stop....how the more and more we continue to learn about the situation has no effect on some people's willingness to ignore it is blowing my mind.

Well, guess what? CNN has it covered now! And I think things will be looking up as far as exposure now. I consider this a victory.

What really happened in Benghazi?

The Obama administration fiddled while Benghazi burned and four Americans died.
Late last week, Jennifer Griffin of Fox News reported that CIA operators caught in the attack in Benghazi requested military backup but were denied by higher headquarters.

If true, this would exhibit fatal inaction and negligence on the part of the administration or the military's chain of command, or worse, some sort of cover-up.

Either there was serious malfeasance on the part of this administration or a knowing cover up with shifting stories and blame. Either way, the American people deserve to know the full story of the disaster in Benghazi.

He is the leader of this country......to me that means rolling up your sleeves and getting dirty.

Instead of his campaign....lies.....and more lies, he should get dirty and actually go to bat for the home team.

Honestly though....presidents are nothing more than the fall guys for the dark that lies unseen beneath the veil.

I expect a president to do more than make empty promises, and throw up a paper that a 9th grader can write to congress, I.E. Obama care....let it get shot down and give up. what happened to reworking it and trying again?

He is a sham president and the next one will be just the same big on lies and empty promises very short on actions to keep said promises.

He was there with the Turkish prime minister when it hit the fan.....he made no attempt to inter vein. He has no action at all in him.

I am sure Obama has done some investigation.....

Does watching CNN coverage count?

It still amazes me how they current administration is brushing off these allegations, its like some kind of blame proof vest.

You have to remember the fact that Obama really shouldnt be doing the investigating. As was said by a previous poster, it is actually better that he does NOT attempt to do any of the investigating on his own. It leaves less room for people to accuse him of whitewashing the information, and it leaves the investigating of the issue to the people that are more capable.

I'm going with CIA inside job......Poke the sleeping bear then place the blame on someone else when it mauls people.

That sounds like the USA to me.

Part of the investigation would involve him answering questions asked of him. Would it not? LIke I said, he is "taking the fifth".

As per Obama - "What I was always clear about was WE are going to do an investigation and figure out what happened."

He should be looking into it. Americans Died! if he was any kind of leader he would be putting an American boot up someones ass.

Who would you have investigate? The U.N.?

I see an eventual "Executive Privilege" response coming after a sufficient and intended amount of agitation has been inflicted upon us.

Just like operation fast and furious.

I agree.....and then some.

We trained the Taliban to kill Russians.......look how that turned out. we have to go in and clean up our "mistakes".
We gave them weapons via the CIA....that they will never admit too.

I wonder of actions like this are self inflicted to incite more problems that we have to "clean up".

Keep the American war machine going, cause the only thing that will fix our country is another major war to kick start the economy. That or total revamp of the American govt.......but i don't see that happening with their stranglehold.

Except this time the American people will not stand quiet. This is it folks, the moment we have all been waiting for. The proof is out and more arrives every day. Even Obamas own press secretary can't take the lies anymore. I think we will be learning more about our commander in chief than we have ever known. May the real Obama please stand up.

Obama's title is Commander in Chief; not Investigator in Chief. Obama has several alphabet agencies that he is in command of. Those agencies are the one's tasked with the investigation; not the executive branch. Obama has ordered an investigation and, so far as I know, that investigation is ongoing. When the investigation is complete, then it will go public and we shall get our answers. Until the investigation is complete, then Obama doesn't know whose rear to put a boot up. I applaud the thorough investigation! I much prefer it to some reactionary like George Bush who conducted zero investigation into 9/11/2001 before committing our troops to an illegal, unaffordable and unwinnable war. I just don't understand this "shoot first and ask questions later" mentality.

May the real Obama please stand up.
