In my search and quest to become wise; I have absorbed a number of Theosophical, Occult, Alchemical, and so forth. I started to realize through different understandings and readings that colors really played a role in the healing and maintenance of our bodies.

For instance the Root Chakra is represented by the color Red. It controls your physical fitness and economic standing.

Eating 3 red apples a day, once before each meal has been proven to help women lose weight. Raspberry ketones is something big that Doctor Oz has recently promoted. Now while some who may be leery of the source; my own mother lost 70 lbs on Raspberry ketones. Strawberries are also a good way to lose the weight off. Beets, and radishes are also effective as well as tomatoes.

It is known that the color Red makes you want to buy things; notice the Red Pentagram (manifestation of 5 elements) in the Macy's commercial? What about Santa?

The Sacral Chakra is denoted by the color Orange. It is responsible for your emotions, sensuality, sexual reproduction, pleasure and creativity.

Through meditation on Swadhisthana, the following siddhis or occult powers are said to be obtained. One is freed from all his enemies, and becomes a lord among yogis. His words flow like nectar in well-reasoned discourse. One gains loss of fear of water, awareness of astral entities, and the ability to taste anything desired for oneself or others.

It is often associated with the endocrine organs of the testes or ovaries in men and women respectively. These produce the hormones testosterone or estrogen, which are important factors in sexual behaviour. These are also the locations the spermatoza or eggs are stored with their latent genetic information, like the latent samskaras that lie dormant within Swadhisthana.

Now it is known that women on birth control can not eat Grapefruit because it is very high in Vitamin C and will interfere with the efficiency of the prescription. Grapefruit is orange; and the same is said for all citrus fruits, including melons and mangos. Inmates in prisons are made to wear orange; what is the one thing they tell you not to do in prison? 'Don't drop the soap."

The Solar Plexus Chakra is yellow. Yellow is a bright, empowering color that brings light and growth to our life. It is a symbol of universal love. Yellow helps with self-definition and is a good color to visualize when engaging in physical activities. It also rules the digestion.

The position of Manipura is stated as being either behind the navel or the solar plexus. Sometimes, when it is located at the navel, a secondary chakra called Surya (sun) chakra is located at the solar plexus, whose role is to absorb and assimilate prana from the sun. Being related to the sense of sight, it is associated with the eyes, and being associated with movement, it is associated with the feet. In the endocrine system, Manipura is said to be associated with the pancreas, and the outer adrenal glands; the adrenal cortex. These glands create important hormones involved in digestion, converting food into energy for the body, in the same way that Manipura radiates prana throughout the body.

It is also known that the color yellow makes you hungry; which is the reason for the big yellow M on the Mcdonald's sign. They are secretly manipulating your brain by feeding it yellow ( hunger), and red (need to buy things). Just about all fast food restaurants use the color yellow in their logo. Bananas, squash, pineapples, and cheese all effect your digestive system.

The Heart Chraka is represented by the color Green. This chakra is associated with love and compassion, charity to others, and forms of psychic healing.

Anahata is associated with the ability to make decisions outside of the realm of karma. In Manipura and below, man is bound by the laws of karma, and the fate he has in store for him. In Anahata, one is making decisions, 'following your heart', based upon one's higher self, and not from the unfulfilled emotions and desires of lower nature.

Anahata is said to be located near the region of the heart. Because of its association with touch, it is associated with the skin, and because of its association with actions of the hands, it is associated with the hands. In the endocrine system, Anahata is supposedly associated with the thymus gland, located in the chest.

Green is used in painted rooms at hospitals to help promote growth and healing. Leafy greens contain Vitamin K, the clotting factor of your blood, which your heart regulates. Grapeseed extract from green grapes will help remove calcium from atherosclerosis. Green apples are also good for the heart. Pears consumption helps in reducing the risk of atherosclerosis, stroke and heart disease.

The Throat chakra is blue; it stores information connected to the physical, spiritual, mental, creative and physical realms. This is also the center of lucid dreaming and astral projection when worked closely with the Eye.

Vishuddha chakra is known as the purification centre. Here the nectar amrita that drips down from the Bindu chakra, and is split into a pure form and a poison. In its more abstract form, it is associated with higher discrimination, and it is associated with creativity and self-expression. When Vishuddha is closed, we undergo decay and death. When it is open, negative experiences are transformed into wisdom and learning. The success and failure in one's life depends upon the state of this chakra (polluted/clean). Guilty feeling is the most prominent reason for this chakra; to block the Kundalini Energy moving upwards. It is associated with the element Akasha or Æther, &nd the sense of hearing, as well as the action of speaking. Meditation upon this chakra is said to bring about the following siddhis or occult powers; vision of the three periods, past, present and future; freedom from disease and old age; destruction of dangers; and the ability to move the three worlds.

This chakra is located in the neck and throat. Due to its association with hearing, it is related to the ears, and due to its association with speaking, it is associated with the mouth. Vishuddha is often associated with the thyroid gland in the human endocrine system. This gland is in the neck, and produces hormones essential for growth and maturation.

The color blue helps to balance out the Throat chakra, and is often used by singer's to boost a practice performance. Blueberries are high in anti-oxidants responsible for maintaining proper thyroid function. Purple fruits may be substituted as well. Plums work well, also with apricots and respective fruit juices

To be continued....

The Third Eye chakra is denoted by the color indigo. It has a strong working correlation to the Throat chakra and the Crown chakra.

Ajna translates as 'command', and is considered as the eye of intuition. When something is seen in the mind's eye, or in a dream, it is being 'seen' by Ajna. It is a bridge that links gurus with disciples, allowing mind communication to occur between two people. The sense organ and action organ associated with Ajna is the mind in both cases. Hindus believe that spiritual energy from the external environments enter their body through this gateway and hence take utmost precaution in protecting it with spiritually positive protecting forces. The various religious marks one sees on the foreheads of men and women belonging to the Hindu faith (like holy ash, namam, vermilion etc.) are thus the blessed spiritual prasadam of their respective form of the Hindu gods. Meditation upon Ajna supposedly grants the following siddhis or occult powers: to quickly enter anothers body at will; to become omniscient; he realizes unity with Brahman; and he has the ability to create, preserve and destroy the three worlds.

Ajna is associated with the third eye on the forehead. It is sometimes associated with the pineal gland, and sometimes with the pituitary gland. The pineal gland is actually related to a light sensitive 'third eye' (Parietal eye) found in some lizards, amphibians and fish, and regulates the circadian rhythms, while the pituitary gland is considered as the master gland of all endocrine glands, whose secretions control all the other endocrine glands.

If you haven't already read my thread on the Pineal gland; you should probably do so. Blueberries are also a good fruit to improve Third eye function, as well as Noni juice. Blackberries, plums, eggplant, etc are good choices. Acai along with purple grapes, and Boysenberries.

The royal color indigo signifies spirituality and higher consciousness. You can see this deep color used in churches and temples all over the world. Originating from the deeper hues of blue, indigo has a sedative affect, and too much of it can be depressing. The color indigo is associated with the third-eye chakra, our seat of intuition and wisdom, located between the eyebrows. Meditation can be an excellent way to develop the third-eye’s ability to "see within." This chakra is also associated with the pituitary gland, the body’s master gland, and with the pineal gland, which is linked to our cycles of sleeping and waking. Working with the third-eye chakra and the color indigo can help us develop self-esteem, inner peace, discernment, intuition, wisdom, clarity and happiness.

Lastly, the Crown chakra is represented by the color violet. Some colors have quite positive effects on the way we think. One exceptionally good color for us is purple (and shades of violet and lavender) because this color is thought to improve our ability to think and achieve. Purple is associated with memory, imagination, creativity, wisdom, and strategic problem-solving, so adding more of this color into your life can help focus your brain. Violet is the color of transformation. A calming color, it can help slow down nervous energy, creating deep relaxation. Violet can also be intentionally used to raise low self-esteem.

Plums are an excellent source of phenols; phenols are what help prevent cell damage and the breakdown of the special fats important to your brain. Raisins, prunes, and elderberries are also good sources of brain food. Plums contain high amounts of Serotonin; a nutrient essential to your mood and overall brain health. Works closely with both the pituitary and the pineal gland.

Sahasrara chakra symbolizes detachment from illusion; an essential element in obtaining supramental higher consciousness of the truth that one is all and all is one. Often referred as thousand-petaled lotus, it is said to be the most subtle chakra in the system, relating to pure consciousness, and it is from this chakra that all the other chakras emanate. When a yogi is able to raise his or her kundalini, energy of consciousness, up to this point, the state of Samādhi is experienced. Meditating on this point is said to bring about the siddhis, or occult powers, of transforming into the divine, and being able to do whatever one wishes.

Sahasrara is related to the crown of the head. It is sometimes related to the pineal gland and sometimes to the pituitary gland.

This is some fine work here. Anything else we can do besides eat foods of these colors? Do clothes make a difference? What color my walls are? My sheets? My tattoos?

Yes, all of those things actually make a big difference. As above, so below. Wearing colors are symbolic statements that associates and defines your character. Ever have those mornings where you wake up and just feel that it isn't a 'green shirt day' but a blue one?

Good work as usual Veritas.
I love your threads pretty much every time I run across one.
If you haven't watched Santos Bonacci's Syncretism the Magnum Opus
on You Tube, I highly recommend it.

Nice work. I've been interested in the subject of Chakras, so how can this color "therapy" I guess you might call it, be put towards meditation?

EDIT: Let me rephrase that last part, can it be put towards meditation?

Yes, meditating while visualizing the chakra colors and their appropriate symbol, can open and balance your chakras. It also helps to chant the mantras, and use the mudra's as well.

Mantra's are chant's by the way.

Mudra's are hand signs in a simplified perspective.

Thanks; I try not to make many 'small threads' with no sustenance...Usually the ones I'm really interested in, I will spend some time before hand working out the plot, etc.

Thanks for the read and feedback though! I was almost afraid this thread would go unnoticed, especially in this sub-forum.

I've got one coming up soon about a form of medicinal alchemy, that can be used to increase the potency of the plant by twelve-fold.

Tattoo's especially are a form of magick. You are putting something permanently on your body that defines you, much like deciding on what shirt color to wear for the day. However, the tattoo is permanent, so if you want to get something, make sure it has an important meaning, and isn't just a tattoo to get a tattoo, ya know?

Stuff that defines who you are is the best, because it strengthens that already active part of yourself. A lot of people I know who tattoo a name on them, have trouble ridding themselves of that person..It's kind of a Law of Attraction thing going on there

Veritas, S&F for starting this post. I cannot believe it went under my radar this long. Guess there has been so much to do lately, but now the holidays are done its time to relax again.

I am an strong advocate of the powers the Chakras hold, and how colour therapy is so effective on a sub-conscious level. So often we gravitate towards a certain colour or even a person wearing the one that we to balance ourselves. I have a site booked on colour therapy that has a great chart, just need to find it again. When I do I will post it here.

There are also complementary colours, or those that work to enhance another. ie; red & green, orange & blue, yellow & purple. An example of using them together would be the case of orange and blue (sacral & throat chakras) when you need to make a presentation before a group. The orange supports the interaction with others and blue enhances communication skills.

I try to notice the colour a person wears and compare it to their current frame of mind. Funny how those who are agitated, maybe due to a root chakra imbalance, wear reds, browns or black. I often wonder how people get by with a wardrobe filled with nothing but black.

Thank you for starting this, I look forward to a lively discussion on a great topic.

Namaste,
YogaGinns

I have a book called Chakra Awakening, by Margaret Ann Lembo. Which gave me part of the inspiration, but also books by Max Heindel, and studying the interactions of certain fruits to certain body functions, that made me realize it is color based...

There may be an actual science to this based on phytonutrients/phtyochemicals, could be what gives the fruits and veggies their color, which would explain why color schemes would generally effect the same things.

I look forward to seeing that color chart, as I wondered a little myself about whether colors were complimentary to that and possibly a greater extent.

Namaste,

V.A.

Veritas, haven't found the one I was looking for but here are two links that give some uses of colour:

www.minahealth.com...

threeheartscompany.com...

I'll skim through my books to find the reference for combining colours to enhance their effects. If you find a standard colour wheel the complimentary colours are usually directly opposite each other on the wheel.

Thanks for the links. Maybe this wheel would work? I happened to have it in one of my image folders; it was a drawing by Newton, I do believe.

Anyone else see the 7 notes of the chromatic scale next to each one? O_o

Thanks for that chart, I have this link that matches musical notes to each chakra. I realize they are promoting the sale of their DVDs but is does raise the question of how music effects our bodies as well.

musicmefree.com...

Imagine if a person was subjected to a single frequency that would stimulate a specific emotion, maybe stores use this to make us buy stuff, or casinos use ones that would make us less conservative and more willing to gamble.

Here we go, the "Colour Conspiracy". OH NO

Once I tried a test... to eat/drink according to colour / frequency... so I was thinking like you... "I want to have a projection tonight, so I'll try drinking this purple drink to stimulate the brow chakra and corresponding physical counterpart" well I did project that night. It could be that the purple drink just had lots of vitamin C and that helped the pineal gland.

Just found this post on a thread while I was searching for Liposomal Vitamin C recipe that someone shared a bit back ago.
